1983 RX-7s....the New Reverse Indiglo Commit Page for Manntis...
Like the Title Says...
Pulled the list from the previous long thread that also got side-tracked and added extra spots for two playahs who will want two sets..."maybes" are not what Manntis wants to see, Im sure...
Again, read the part about money committment...any thoughts on this, Manntis?

I'm in still in for at least one set. I voted for the $60-75 range, but I would pay more if the quality, color scheme, etc is what I'm after. It would be nice if we could get these soon, while I still have the dash all apart in my project...

The original deal from Manntis was that he'd do the protoyping and do a run of gauge packages for the 1983 cars in true Indiglo Reverse style if we could get 20 serious bids...

I think he offered this when he was still in love with Pamela, and she was still around.
I am just saying someone should check to see if he is still committed to this,
as he may be busy now.

No idea how Manntis will tackle this project, but I'm sure we're all hoping for something like the following....my favorite at top to "I would still buy it" after that....

Seeing as how the above are produced by a company that does a LOT of other things to make a profit, I don't expect Manntis' effort to sell for anything close to the prices where I got those examples...

I'll catch him over at the DoO where he still battles regularly after his long hiatus due to bajaman...sterling got back in again, so you oughtta come over for some fun and see pele's "grief"....and a businessman is a businessman...if someone's doing the footwork for him, that just makes his sales all the easier...he has contacts and companies that do this stuff for him...he's really not a fabricator as such, he makes things happen....we all need to thank him for staying interested in 1stgen's....
true it was over a year ago, but seeing as he's in the process of finalizing the vented hoods he's clearly still into making first gen parts. i'm sure he'll come through for us.
It would be nice if they can make some for those with 81-82 Rx7s and not sure if the 83 fit into the 81 or 82. It would be nice for peoples like me that have the 81 GS to get some nice one for us.
Many people have mentioned that the 83 speedo will just drop in and work on a 81-82 car. I have no idea, never done it myself since I have an 83 already.

I voted $60-$75 simply b/c I figure this will be the cheapest it could be done for. I think you guys should plan on the gauges (if made) to be at least this much. Ecspecially for such a low interest in them. If there was like 100 or so ppl interested we could probably get them sooner and cheaper...
It's funny that I was able to get Indiglos for my Infiniti J30. I consider the car rare b/c they were only made from 93-95 and sold for $40-45k new. The only reason gauges and such are offered for this is b/c the company knows Infiniti owners have money.
And know, I'm not loaded. I bought the car b/c I've always wanted a 89-95 300z but with kids, I needed a 4door. The Infiniti J30 has the exact same VG30DE (210hp) as the Z and is rear wheel drive AND was only $6,995 when I purchased it back in 2000 (Infiniti's for some reason don't hold value very well) Still an awesome car at 201,000mi. It's a keeper I say.
Anyways, you get my point...

the 83 speedometer is different from the 81-82 because i think the 81-82 only go to 85 and the later goes to like 120, so it would read wrong if you just change the gauge face, instead of the whole speedometer also.....
so 83 gauge faces would work if you got the 83 speedometer....

I've got the hoods almost done, the stereo bracket re-issue is finalized in auto-cad and about to be released. After that I can look at other products such as these gauges. They would be subcontracted, but I'd buy them in bulk then resell them (hence my original post asking for 20 commitments).
Two problems I see: one, in the past when vendors have asked who's in many people say yes, but when the product is ready 90% of those people suddenly are broke. Two, I've been burned by gauge suppliers before who've left me holding the bag.
If I can resolve both issues these gauges might be in the works. Thanks to Mar for doing some leg-work for me and thanks to Directfreak for bringing this thread to my attention
