1983 RX-7 GSL not starting

Hello have an RX-7 1983 FB with an 12A and having an issue with it starting.
So the last time it was started was 3 months back and it started up after a bit of cranking.
Now i just went and got a new battery and tried cranking and it didn't wanna start. and it kept changing noising, it was cranking and when i turn to off and on to crank again (key) it just made a weird whining noise.
Now it's stuck in the whining noise and doesn't crank.
I checked the oil and coolant and it's all good.
I even tried the 2 step procedure for unflooding with ATF in two small barrel in the carb.
I had full throttle, pressed gas 5 times.
What could be the issue? I know engine is good.

I'd have your starter tested. Also do the easy things like does it get spark and how are the front and rear float bowl levels? The back one can be a bit hard to see.

"kept changing noising" what? the fuel pump on mine always makes a whining sound. When it is 40F and below and has been sitting a day, I have to pour methanol (heet yellow bottle) down the carb to get it to start.

when that sorcery doesn't work

I remove the plugs and crank the engine with the fuel pump fuse pulled. It's a nice way to clean out the combustion chambers and check spark plugs' firing. WD-40 is good for cleaning the plugs, and it makes a cool flame when you crank the engine over.

Then I put everything back the way it is supposed to be, pour more heet yellow/methanol/methyl alcohol down the carb, and my engine always starts right up. Remember to put the fuel pump fuse back in, I once forget that.

Good luck! and let us know if this works.
