1979/80 Drum break Hardware kit NLA ?
Hey lads's I'm back. I promised my self I wouldn't touch my car until I found a fender / fixed the quarter panel damage some dingus made when I parked my car outside. I spent TWO years looking for a 1979 Driver side fender and finally snagged A NEW ONE up! TWO FREAKING YEARS!!!!
Rant over
Two years ago I bought everything I needed to redo the 79's brake system EXCEPT the rear brake hardware kit ( it was out of stock and I never go around to ordering them from summit)
I'v spent the last four days with no avail searching for the Raybestos H17116 rear drum brake hardware kit https://www.summitracing.com/parts/agb-h17116
Does anyone know any alternative parts or better a link to available parts ?

That blows I found an alternative ACDelco 18K656 but Amazon says " this is not compatible" even though I got other sources ( CARid ) saying it is compatible. ( also please no one be a dick and buy out the remaining stock, I'm not even sure said parts are compatible )

Here are the 79/80 parts fiche.
Index of /rx7manual/manuals/parts_manuals/79-80
Brakes: http://www.foxed.ca/rx7manual/manual...%20CHASSIS.pdf
Upper Spring 0187-26-341: https://www.atkinsrotary.com/store/7...87-26-341.html
Lower Spring 0187-26-342: https://www.atkinsrotary.com/store/7...tegory_id=1531
The rest is pretty common, like the retainer, retainer spring, and clip.

Thanks, but 40$ for 4 spring seems like a huge rip off ( i might have to buy them anyways)
I also found centric ones from SUMMIT yall think this works https://www.summitracing.com/parts/c...zda/model/rx-7

Ok so I did some digging and found the OEM springs, but what the heck are the squares and the pins called ? Once I get them il make sure to post the links of where I got everything ( trying to find the best prices , Atkins is overcharging by at least 35$ )

After a few phone calls ( to reybestos) they DID discontinue the kit but told me they still technically offer all the parts ( spring kit / pins) the only thing they straight up discontinued was the retaining clips. I also sourced OEM Mazda parts but the shipping would be 40$ as opposed to 15$ for the Raybestos parts ( their spring are rated better than OEM) Once I get my hands on everything il post a link to all the parts. I just want to make sure the parts fit.

The MAZDA retaining clips are both the spring and the retainer all in one. I'm sure it saved them a pretty penny doing those but its not standard. Standard is a spring under the retainer as one of your pics shows. I think either will work fine.

ancient wizard...
Know how much of that hardware i’ve tossed over the years-lots. Saved so much stuff from working on them.
Saving stuff gets out of hand, takes up entirely too much room.
Last time I moved,I went thru everything, took me 2 days to separate what I thought i’d Need. Pickup truck load to scrapyard, think was @$40,gas money...

Ok so I managed to get ahold of springs from Raybestos Part number H10355 ( Made in USA) 6$ shipped . They arrived today and look new / good quality.. ( dont look like new old stock or cheapo Chinese **** with flashing)
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/agb-h10355 these are noted as compatible according to Raybestos themselves ( and ebay and amazon ) They look identical to the stock ones aside from color .

Off topic but funny none the less, the last owner was an idiot and but two rear big shoes on the same side, this was the cause for my car making a whooshing noise from the wheel. Freaking idiots man.. I knew something was up when I spun the drum and heard grinding, took the drum off and the grinding went away ( the bearing is FINE!!) . The rear shoe is unevenly warned since it's supposed to be the front show on the driver side .. Some people baffle my mind,
Correction,, shoes don't have a side but the retaining bar/ strip or whatever was positioned incorrectly and I cant seem to find pictures of how to assemble it correctly =(
