Nice build man! I just picked up a GSL-SE and am hoping to have a similar build with the FC turbo with a v-mount (if I can fit it) within the next few years. Thank you for providing inspiration!

Dyno day has come and gone, but with pleasing results!
Ended up making 281hp atw at 10psi and 7000rpm with a simple run-in tune. Pleased I am!!
Stuff all smoke (still a fresh motor) so should only get better, the tuner said everything went smoothly, I went to PPRE, the guys who are responsible for Mad Mikes drift FURSTY 26bpp. Really helpful and friendly guys, would totally recommend them to anyone!

^^ upper line is HP, lower line is torque

^^ upper line is HP, lower line is boost
After a bit of driving around this afternoon, I found the area around the brakemaster cylinder was rather warm... hot really. So i whipped up a stainless heatshield that hopefully sort that out.

wow, i have to say you are a real inspiration to me. i just want to get my car running reliably but i have so many unorganized plans for my 85 series 3 13b. it's stock but i would love more power but i cant afford it, 7.65 an hour barely covers insurance and normal ware items. i guess thats what you get for being 18. i love my car and would not trade it for anything. when i get rich i will definately be using some of your ideas. i especially love the coilovers and the clean engine bay. both motors look great. ill have to go to nz sometime soon. great lookin setup.

oh yea, sorry its not too obvious, my bad. The kit they had was a complete rebuild kit they bought in from japan. It was one to suit a series 4/5 13b turbo, meaning it had 3mm apex seals/springs and corner seals. I paid a tiny bit more and got them to swap it over to suit the 2mm seals. Also got some stationary gear bearings in the kit.

Cheers for all your comments guys really appreciate them. Yep its a hell of a step-up from the 12a, god its good fun!
I've been in touch with the guy incharge of the local car-club about joining up, there a few more meetings to come in the next few months so keen to get the 1000km for the run-in done, retune, then have a *****-load of fun!!

Well, Gian and I took his car for a drive today and all I can say is wow. It pulls all the way from 3500 and covers great distances very quickly, scarily quickly in fact! I was given the honor of having a drive myself and holy ****. 280hp at the wheels is epic so I am guessing once the full tune is done this thing will be even more of a weapon. 200kph came up like no ones business and it winds out 5th too easy, it needs another 2-3 gears!!!! Epic.

I welded in a piece of 30x30 RHS steel inbetween the castor-arm mounts that the bottom of the intercooler mounted into, then just made up some tabs that secured the top to the panel just infront of it.
I'll post up some pics tomorrow that'll explain it better

Dude. This is turning out great. You have a lethal weapon there. 300 rwhp is just the beginning! I have barley got over the 400 hp mark in mine, and I WANT MORE. With all that I have done to ensure traction, anything over 15psi is still skating the tires in third. I'll post some video if you will

Damn I want that Gilmer drive! I bet that just adds to the sound!!!!!

I have a surge tank setup with an -044 in my car too. I designed and installed that setup after I got fuel starvation at 1/4 tank on a road course. Luckily, this happened before I went turbo (and it was with a GSL-SE tank).

Here's my post from a few years ago --> https://www.rx7club.com/1st-generation-specific-1979-1985-18/tank-swirl-pot-ready-roll-769206/
exactly, if your boosting hard I would always reccomend at least 1/2 tank, you don't wanna lose fuel pressure then
