13b 6 port question

13b 6 port question

okay i have this in another post kinda.. i need to know how to tell the difference in the 13b from a gsl se 84-85 and a second gen 13b .. both 6 port.. i have one and i am not sure what it was out of.. the 13b stamp is on the rotor housing... and someone told me to look into the exhaust ports.. well i took some pics.

Do you have a pic of the intake?
If so post it... the intakes are different. Also mentioned before the GSL-SE has only two injectors. They are hidden under the upper intake.

It looks as though you only have two injector bungs in the center plate in the pics you have posted.

Look at the exhaust ports.

86+ 6 ports have a "diffuser" in the exhaust port, but pre-86 motors do not...

okay so its from a 84 or 85 then.. because there are no obstrustions in the exhaust ports. so that means i can use my 12a side and middle pieces.. cool thanks.

The diffusers are for sound. The turbos don't have them because the exhaust impeller does a better job of breaking up the exhaust note.

i have another question .. if i am going to rebuild this engine.. do i need to buy a 12a rebuild kit or a 13b rebuild kit or both?
