I have made an acv block off plate where that valve opens in the side of manfold, i blocked that I removed rats nest no vacuum leaks as far as i know this car has always hade a "lumpy Idle" I found it in a wrecked 83 the car had racing stickers all over it, But stock intake manifold and exhaust manifold it could be ported I doubt It, Its fairly quick a cheap *** cherry bomb setup off the 83 is now on my gs it sounds gay literally well getting to the point i can rev it up to 4-5 k and it wont miss as long as i keep the throttle less than 1/2 pedal ill floor it and it will sputter revvin up but it always misses above 8k I wonder why it idle at about 800 ok but blump blump blump only during idle My Old man says that its my A.P accelerator Pump.

How did you check for vacumm leaks?Spray some carb cleaner around and make sure you don't have any leaks.Mine acted the same way until I got them all nailed down,that was one of the rseasons I got rid of the rats.can you check tonite?if so i/ll be here for a while.

No offense, but you shouldnt be revving a stock ported motor above 8k.

Brian, the fast idle rod is the one that comes up from the main linkage and hooks to the choke assembly.

 

Were you on crank when you wrote this, or do you just abhor punctuation?

Hi Carl Yes dick dAle is credited with Inventing surf-music he helped leo Fender develop the reverb unit I guess but anyway I like the Ventures better especially walk don't run and slaughter on 10th Ave and perfidia and Apahe '65 although they have many cool surf songs like spudnik by Nokie edwards who I donated a drum set for one of his concerts and he autographed my heads you probably would recognize The lively ones version as the ending song from PulpFiction but they called it surf rider not spudnik so the Ventures lawyer served them with an order to cease and desist and they couldn't play their best known song anymore which seems pretty gay but anyway if you want to hear a really cool modern surf band you should check out Laika and the Cosmonauts from Finland they are great there are also some really great surf bands from Ontario Canada of all places like the aqualads and the Aquaphiles seems they like to say AQUA in canada eh
I think it's the IUMA site that had a lot of good surf tunes in MP3 format to download for free but I might be mistaken
