i used to know some guys back in the Bronx that ran rears from old Datsun trucks because of the thicker axles and the torque-biased gearing, so maybe that's why he's running a Datsun rear (i'm sure it's not a truck because the wheel fit under the fenders, and i don't see the 6-bolts for the wheels) - but maybe he found some old datsun car, like the 810 (original Maxima or something) ... i'm just speculating ...

can someone explain this "welded/locked distributor"-thing that i heard mentioned in an earlier post? i've never heard of this before, and i'd like to know what it is and what it does.

ps
i love the interior of that black car (the snotty guy)

Locked out= no advance= you don't blow your car up under boost from too much timing.

okay, now i'm really confused ...
wouldn't you want the timing to be more retarded with increasing boost? maybe i just understand it ...

You are correct. However, since you can't do that with a stock dizzy, you set the Maximum timing under boost conditions, and then the timing will be *really* off (slugging) off of boost.

It's the cheap and easy way to do it, without the frills.

Already saw it and considered it for my cars cold air intake setup...Was gonna use it and put a K&N cone filter on the end out front of the radiator, but for one, it wont fit the stock carb (the one I use for now, until I get my Holley ), and for two, its just too damn expensive for right now...maybe later. Anyway, here ya go...

PS - Its $165.99 from Summit Racing, I called . I decided to just build my own cold air intake for that much .

maybe a dumb question, but is that the blow-off valve next to the alternator?

Yes. They attached it to the bonnet rather than the IC piping. As I previously said... Sloppy.

Bonnet = Hood, or cover in "funny talk" as I like to call it. I assume he means bonnet as in the carb's "cover" .

I don't see how there's anything wrong with mounting the BOV on the carb hat. IMO it's proberbly better that way since it places the BOV nearer to the actual point of reversion.

What about your blown chrome-plated muffler bearings and your struts that creak?

fair dinkum.

I've only heard bonnet to mean the thing covering the engine compartment a.k.a. hood, so the bit about him connecting it to the bonnet- ah, nevermind. Stickers, anyone?
