12a Rebuild: Mystery Brass cap/bushing (?)

I use a medium size tupperware tote for a degrease rinse (32oz Purple Power to 5gal water). The last thing I disassembled/overhauled was the OMP.

I did not notice the small brass cap/bushing (?) until today when cleaning the small rotor parts.

I can take the OMP apart again, but if anyone can identify this part as not coming from the OMP, I will be eternally grateful.

Attached my image of the piece, and an exploded view of the OMP I used for reference. (I've searched but cannot acknowledge the OP)

I believe that exploded view photo may have been mine; not 100% sure (I've taken & posted a LOT of pictures over the last half-dozen years) but the tools look familiar.

I don't recall having seen that particular brass shim in my OMP. I will try to back-check my pictures for you later tonight when I am home. Only places it could logically go would be at the end of the input shaft, or the throttle shaft.

If you can that would be great.
Hate to stick it in if it does not belong.

I have a disassembled OMP stuck back somewhere, I will try to find it and see if I can find such a part.

I examined all the bits from mine and it not there. I'm convinced its not from the omp, but now I'm curious, can you post a better pic so we can figure out what it is?

Thanks for looking.

Attached image shows both sides.

Looks like a little flat hat. 7.29mm in diameter.

Prior to the OMP I cleaned the oil level and sensor from the oil pan. But no obvious point of attachment on either component.

Prior to the oil pan sensors, I believe I re-cleaned the oil pressure sensor and the other one (?) on the rear iron. It might have come off the internal end of the small sensor (image).

The OMP was my biggest worry as it is rather critical unless I'm going to premix.

It looks like circular wear, like maybe it did come from the OMP. Look at the OMP parts and try to match up the wear pattern. Should be mirror images.

Mystery solved!!!!

It goes into the OMP on the end of the "drive shaft" top-hat side to the inside.

Thanks everyone.
