12a rebuild

my motor wont start it has 75 compression on both sides it has a weber and bridge port ive been trying to start it i dont know if its because of the cold weather but it sounds like it wants to start. ive heard people pull start them is that a good idea. and is it true that the fuel pump only starts when the car is running i heard its some kind of safety feature.

The fuel pump will run, dont worry. You can even hear it if you turn the key

84-85 years had this so called safety feature. It can be bypassed for testing. Then leave it bypassed if that suits you. Earlier models didn't even have this feature and they were safe enough.

There is a relay under the driver's side dash near the steering column. There is a graphic/schematic somewhere on the forum you can search for that shows basically where this relay is and which wires in the 6-pin connector to jumper. This will allow the fuel pump to run whenever the key is ON.

I don't remember what the graphic is called or what to search for specifically. But it should be pretty easy to find.
