12A ported and 13B ported difference!
I have a 83 gs, and i have the choice of putting a gsl-se 13B or rebuilding my 12A. I want power!
My mods are the following ;
RB complete exhaust system (road race dual)
Dellorto DHLA 48 Carb w/air filter
RB fuel pressure regulator
Carter electric fuel pump
RB intake manifold
I know a stock port 12A with these mods should get me around 150hp at the flywheel.
Now, what would be the power if i make a streetport on my 12A ?
Same question but with the 13B ?
I have modifications on the motor mounts i think for the 13B ?
What's the best bang for the buck !?

Bang for buck:
I'd say rebuild and port the 12a.
For one thing, you already have the engine, that's a huge savings. The porting and rebuild are gonna cost the same for either engine, but mounting the GSL-SE's 13b is gonna be much more of a pain to mount... If you carburetor it, and get a 13b header to replace whatever you've got for the 12a, that'll save you alot of hassle. RB sells a mount, and there's a wealth of other info on what you need to do this.
It'll be much cheaper to rebuild your 12a, but if money isn't as much of a problem, you'll get more power out of a 13b for sure... just not a huge amount (if you port them the same way).

13B 6PI..175 to 180 flywheel HP with those bolt ons...also very tractable for street use.
A 12A will need a good sized streetport and reworking the Dellorto some to get the same HP and not as much bottom end torque...youll get the cool loping idle though

The guy who helps me in the rebuild process told me it's better to just port the intake ... But damn, i don't care about the fuel lol .. I won't count my mpg lol .. I want power, that's it, it won't be daily driven since i bought a beater.

If i run higher octane fuel, i need to adjust the FPR ? right ?
And what do i need to adjust on the dellorto?
rebuilding the 12a is more bang for the buck. won't need new manifolds and won't need to slot the motor mount to fit the 12a. But the 13b will give more hp and more torque at a lower rpm. B motor has more potential but A is fine!
180 at the fly is with a very well tuned motor. MSD 6a, low restriction exhaust and well tuned carb.
you can use low octane fuel in a non turbo rotormotor, but i got better MPG and more power using 91 octane. lots of guys use middle of the road 89 octane because it is generally better quality gas then the low octane 86 stuff. less contaminants.
Castrol GTX 20/50 is a fantastic oil. If $ is available just use Mobil 1 15/50 synthetic. Syn is fine in a rotary. I had good results with 3rd gen platinum plugs, and 90 Turbo][ plugs. No need to adjust fuel pressure regulator with higher octane fuel.
As for the dellorto adjustments, read up here and enjoy. It's a great carb with lots of flexibility! i prefer the Lake Cities Rotary intake manifold which is available new from http://atkinsrotary.com/

Hell, **** all that
Just buy the TII engine and tranny that this guy is selling on the Quebec forum. Sell your other two engines to some americans through here and you'll have MORE than $800 Canadian I'm sure!

This guy lives right near me, so I'd damn well buy it if I had $800 to spare! You want power? A TII in a 1st-gen is power! If you bought it, I'd probably throw it in the car and drive it down to you, just so I could have a chance at carrying a TII motor and tranny
