the differences are for the flanges and the rear mounting configuration and in the case of the auto thy may route it further away from the trans because of heat. If you notice the roadrace header fits all 12A's.

Good question. My car was originally a 4 spd automatic. I changed it over to a 5 spd. manual. Is my RB streetable header still gonna work???

ok the main deal here is because the auto tranny is longer then the manual in the 84-85 years because of the overdrive they had to move the exuast slighty.

Now a manual system will not clear a auto car with teh auto tranny in it. However a auto system will clear a auto car with a manual or a manual car with a manual.

The catch is sicne your using the racing beat header you gotta use the presilencer (given) but you MUST USE THE APPROPIATE CONNECTING PIPE. if the header is for a auto you have to use a auto connecting pipe. You gotta get that out of a junkyard because new auto connecting pipes sad to say are no longer available. I think I have one rusting behind my house if anybody wants one!

if your putting a header on you might as well go with the long primary for the few bucks more at the exhaust shop it makes more power and if you decide to port later it will make a big improvment. and as a tip if you do long primary get the collector back as far as you can it will bring the torque peak in earlier.
