12a and GSL-SE frontcovers

The 12A front cover has an oil metering pump with two lines coming out of it, and the GSL-SE has an OMP with four lines coming out of it.

That's about the only difference. The 12A pump uses a gasket where it mates to the front cover, while the GSL-SE pump uses a big O-ring.

Someone is sure to mention that GSL-SE engines have a boss beneath the OMP that looks like where a turbo oil return would go. Well, so do '84-85 12A front covers. But if it has no boss, it's definitely a 12A part.

ok THATS what had me confused. My 12a origionally had the spot for an oil return. I only thought the SE's did.

So the other cover that I have without the spot, is just an older cover.

Cool thanks!
