1/4 Mile E/T Times

Hey guys, I just ran my 83 S at Mason-Dixon Dragway's Street Night tonight so I thought I'd post a thread to see what kind of 1/4 miles times you guys have gotten. My best run of the night was an 18.952 @ 75.33MPH. My 7 isn't running at 100% at the moment though and still needs a good bit of carb tuning. Looking forward to seeing those times!

I just ran my best so far on june 16th at our local strip. we have a street legal race almost every friday night. My car is a 1/2 bridgeport, RB road race header, weber 48 IDA on top of a racing beat intake. Yes i know the car should be faster but i keep spinning off the line. My shifts are at 8500-9000 rpm. 15.421 @ 90.60 MPH

wow. what are you launching at? you have to be getting a HORRIBLE start to hit that with a bridge when i hit 15.3 with a stock port with the same mods. you sure your carb is tuned right for your setup? are you presetting your suspension with your ebrake? i did and it helped out A LOT

ran my 84 at a 1000ft track on autox tires. Didn't get the times I expected, but is was over 100 degrees that day. My best was a hot lap with tires spinning to 60 mph......need to get some slicks.

Feet in a mile.

a quarter mile is 1300 ft. a mile is 5200 ft.

our local track is 1/8 mile. when my sp 13b was in my 808 my best was 9.381. iirc translates roughly to 14.541 for the quarter mile.

You guys are gettin some good times. It was really hot and humid the day I ran. My set up is bone stock with all emissions and cat still intact. I want to put together a header or straight pipe to run on track days to eliminate the restricting exhaust.

16.82 was my best with the completely bone stock 100k mile '84 GS. Launching at 3500 rpm and power shifting at 7000. I took home the wally in the street stick class with .00x R/T's in every round.

I've been pretty good this year, between the Nova and the rex, I've made money on all my trips to the strip.

According to the ODO and a stopwatch I run a 15.2 right now.
God knows, though, that I could really be running anywhere from a 15 flat to a 16.5 as accurate as the "New Mexico Method" is.

Yaw, SP Exhaust, 195/60/13 Yokohama AVID T4 Rear, 185/60/13 Yoko AVID T4 front (easier to steer around town with the skinnier tires up front) Carter Pump, FPR, FC oil cooler/rad, Taurus E-Fan, all emissions removed, no AC ar any of that useless crap, Reman LSD off a GSL model (put it in last week with teh tires, cooler, rad, and fan), stock "Plus" wheels.

Before he was jailed, I was only losing to Jays83gsl with similar mods by about my nose to the front of his door. So, when I drop my motor this winter to give it a streetport worth TALKING about (not the crappy little job I have now) I'll probably be one of the fastest FB's in town (and finally take down Jay as the fastest NA FB that we know of)
