0-100

Hey guys,
I was just wondering how would putting in a new decent exaust on a 12A (so we are talking a full proper system from headers back) affect the stock 0-100 kph time (0-60 mph) as the only mod done. Stock time is about 9.2 seconds I think. What would it be after mod?

Thanks?

It's hard to say. A full exhaust on a 12A should give you about 15hp so you might be able to knock about a second off the 0-100.

15hp? A full second??!?!?!?! How do you figure that? I'd be surprized if 15hp even took half a second! Would the same go for my gsl-se???

Yeah, that was being a bit optimistic when I think about it. Half a second sounds about right.

with lightening you can hit mid to low 15's in the quarter mile with 130 fwhp if you are a good driver

That's not how it works you ******. By your reasoning we should be able to run 9 seconds down the quarter by doubling the horsepower of a stock 1st gen.

Disconnect your secondary vacuum link, and wire the seconds up proper to make it mechanical. (There is a write-up....) The difference will make you wet yourself from the suprise that your stock carb could do so well.

Sterling, Could you put a link to the write up or is it on here somewhere? Changing the secondaries to mechanical makes that much difference?
