0-100 time fast enough?

gday guys just a quick question relating to the acceleration of my 2001 rb-s model..

I launched it today and timed the 0-100 acceleration but from the two launches (which didnt seem horrendous) i was still only getting about 6.1-6.3 seconds to 100..
whether it was my bad timing skills whilst driving or is this normal even though the forums say 4.9-5.3seconds.

its completely stock (for a few more days until my hks intake comes.. p.s frothing at the mouth)

let me know if anyone has recorded 0-100 times for comparison

Cheers

Temperature, elevation, surface, tyres, timer calibration/procedure, driver skill, etc. All of these matter.

Also the health of your car mechanically. Remember, those times aren't from just any driver.

I think you're looking for 0 - 100 km/h times they will be a bit higher than the times you mentioned. The times you mentioned are going to 60mph not 62mph.

You're comparing yourself to professional drivers best times at optimal conditions, never going to be favorable.

How are you timing?
What tires?
What surface? Keep it on the track. Go run the 1/4mi.

You out to be steady in the mid 5's, if all is well. Low 5's with practice and a strong car.
Also, it's never fast enough.

Launch is key to good times. If your not great with the clutch or the tires are old you can easily lose .5-1 sec.

That said when I got my first FD with only 36k miles on it it would only run 0-60 in about 7 flat. I had a spark plug wire that was shorting to the rotor housing, replaced wires and wad turning 5-5.5 sec.

most production sport cars cars go from 0-60 in 4 to 5 seconds
do you have some sort of drag car with mickey thompson tires where you are expecting to break 100mph in 4 seconds?

Yeah it's definitely a combination thanks for the input! I the car is healthy with low ks but the car will chirp in second in the dry so possibly a combo. And no I don't expect 4 seconds I know where I'm from this thing will demolish most things around I just expected maybe better than plus six. New tyres and more practice and I'll report back! P.s yeah I wouldn't do a quarter mile I just pulled it over on the highway where the speed limit here it 110km/h

when Barban said go do a 1/4 mi, he meant take it to the nearest drag strip and run it in the 1/4 mi.

if you don't want to get pulled over to ripping it on the street, stick to the track.

And as turbojeff stated, you may want to double check your engine is in tip top running shape. (new spark plugs and wires, fuel filter, air filter, and just overall checking out underneath the hood, if you have stock rubber vacuum lines definitely replace them all, ect.)
