1992 Honda Civic CX 1.5L 4 Cyl 70HP (theft)

Father brought this car home to me when I was 17. I didnt choose it or anything.
It was all stock and this is where I would learn my first set of wrenching skills.
I installed a 1.8L engine from a Acura Integra and this thing would move. Very fun car and was clean as hell. Road tripped to LA twice. Great on gas and dead reliable. Was stolen in 2007 after I graduated HS.

1987 Mazda RX-7 Base model 13B 145HP (sold)

My brother owns a FD and convinced me to try a rotary car. I liked the idea of the rotary and used the insurance money to buy my first RX-7. I didnt know crap about the trim levels so I bought a BASE model lol. The car was in decent condition for its age and had minor things cracked in the interior. This car taught me a lot about RWD and the driving techniques that come with that...Well this car was stolen as well so I was forced to buy car number 3...(I recovered this car while owning car #3, this was sold when car #3 was sold)

1996 Acura Integra GS-R 1.8L 4 Cyl VTEC 170HP (sold)

I was tired of old unpredictable sports cars (RX-7) so I went and got this. It had power everything and rode okay. The most memorable thing about this car was the VTEC engaging noise. Long story short, the engine blew. Engine was replaced with a NON VTEC engine and sold the car for cheap.

1995 Honda Civic Hatchback DX 1.5L 4 Cyl 100HP (totaled)

With the money I received from selling cars 2 and 3, I got nostalgic and purchased another Civic reminiscent of my first car. It was all stock and a old lady used to drive it. 40 MPG was awesome. I had major plans for this car. But a 4 car accident would total it out. I received a check and proceeded to car 5...

1996 Nissan Maxima SE 3.0L V6 190HP (sold)

I didnt want a manual car no more so I bought my first AUTO! This car had power everything and made cruising awesome. Had passing power on the freeway and could reach 90MPH fairly quick. I got bored even though it was a good car. Sold it to a friend and bought number 6...

2008 Kawasaki Ninja 250R 250CC V-twin 26HP (sold)

I wanted to start riding so I bought a beginner bike. I must say there is nothing like riding a bike. No car could give you the same feeling. I was in love. But I quickly realized you cant own a bike without having a car as well! It was my only transportation. Sold the bike to purchase another vehicle.

1995 Honda Civic DX 1.5L 4 Cyl 100HP (sold)

I then needed another commuter type car that would save gas. Stepped back into the Honda world and bought this for commuting only. I felt like i was done with the whole customizing cars thing. My wife would soon move in with me and needed a car so I gave this car to her...and bought number 8...

1982 Mazda RX-7 GSL 12A (current)

I was looking for another car and searched for RX-7s for ***** and giggles and then came across this FB. I always liked the looks and wanted to get back into the rotary world. Pulled the trigger and couldn't be happier.

1988 Mazda RX-7 GXL 13B (current)

Uploaded with ImageShack.us
An opportunity had arisen to sell the Civic so we sold and found this nice clean FC.
My wife loves the car since its hers. But the thought of owning two rotary vehicles at once kind of makes me nervous. So far its worked out since they are both NON TURBO.

My favorite would have to the FB RX-7. Every time I drive it, I get a joy that I cant get from anything else. Its not too fast, but just right. It looks great and I get compliments on it a lot. This car has lots of SOUL.

1982 Mazda Rx-7 - stolen
1981 Mazda Rx-7 - sold
1983 Mazda Rx-7 - scrapped
1991 Toyota MR2 Turbo - wrecked
1984 Mazda Rx-7 - still have
1990 Toyota Celica - crashed
2004 Mazda Rx-8 - current daily
1987 Mazda Rx-7 - the new test mule

my favorite/best? this is a tough one ....

they all have their good points - strengths and weaknesses. forced to choose, it would probably be a dead heat between the '83 and the MR2. the '83 was my everything - my daily driver and my test mule. i owned it for 7 years. the MR2 also served as my daily for most of the time i owned it, but it was the first car that i made significant strides in a planned build. it did EVERYTHING it was designed for on a surreal level. i would someday like to get another one.

i must take a second to mention the Celica though because, right now the Rx-8 is the only functioning vehicle i have and while i love it, i think the Celica was the best daily driver on my list. it had decent power, great mileage and the only car that challenged (or surpassed) the Rx-7s for practicality. i would have still had it to this day if it didn't get crashed.

it's been 2 years since i bought the Gen II and it's still not running yet ....

(Not that long of a list but I didn't get my first car until I was 18 and I'm 22 now)

2003 Ford Taurus -Totaled, pilled up hillbilly t-boned me.
94 Mitsubishi galant - sold
90 rx7 - three engines, four years of heartbreak and I parted it out/scrapped it.
90 miata - traded to an 86 rx7
86 rx7 - somebody had used block weld to seal off the coolant passages, blew up two weeks after I owned it.
92 Nissan nx 1600 - Rallied it in eastern Kentucky and took it "mudding", sold it for 300 and it still runs today.
87 Porsche 944 - sold it after going through three fuel pumps.
91 240sx - project car, sold it before I even started on it.
90 civic 4spd - current daily driver
83 rx7 - restoring with financial aid money.

Honestly my favorite car was my 1990 rx7 gxl. It was completely stock and clean when I got it but the motor had a blown coolant seal. Drove it for a year and half like that and then replaced the engine. That one lost coolant seals because of a failed radiator cap. Rebuilt and then totaled it after a fight with my gf... I still miss it, but there's no way to get one back after they are scrapped. ='(

In chronological order.

1. 2000 Saab 9-3 2.0T
2. 2000 VW jetta 2.0
3. 1979 Mazda RX-7
4. 1985 Mazda RX-7 GS
5. 1996 Ford Ranger 4.0
6. 1995 Subaru Impreza coupe 2.2

I would like to think that i have had a fairly decent vehicle history considering i'm only 19. I would say though that i havnt had the best luck. #1 blew up on the interstate the day before i got my license. #2 was the victim of hurricane Ireene. #3 was used to fix #4 which i currently still have. #5 was a good rig, sold it for #6 thought because of poor mileage and dwindling savings.

Overall i think that the '85 RX-7 is my favorite car of all. I love the way it feels on the road more than anything else i have ever driven. a close second though would be the subaru. That car is a blast to drive in the winter!

Much loved. New replacement 10A block cost me - *gasp* $400 from Mazda. This is when mazda was actively buying back and crushing R100s by the hundreds (in Canada at least). Dealerships had _rows_ of them behind the shop awaiting disposal. We'd sneak in on weekends and strip them for parts...
Sold it for $400 in '86. Still have nightmares. Esp since you can add TWO Zero's to that price in Australia. gads...

Needless to say, will be more careful with beloved SA...!

Can you explain why they were crushing R100's?
Man I want one soooo bad.... I would sell my running corolla (not worth a cent) for just a shell.
