This is fun, my car was built 7/31/1981, the day before the single "Jessies Girl" came out.

Black car as a birth date of 12/83 (yes, it had the 3.933 rearend in it. Yes it was a big-bearing car, I'd like to know where the rumor that the fine-tooth rears in the early S3s were mated with small-axle housings) and, er, I got to go

Mines an 80 but I bought it the end of 83 and I remember a lot of Madonna songs "Like a Virgin" and Cyndi Lauper "Giirls just want to have Fun". Also punk was getting big then too.

the first week of December was 'All Night Long"
week two that drops to #2, replaced by 'say say say' by Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson, where it stays the rest of the month...

That is disappointing. 1983 was when some really influential album came out...

I'll have to check to see when the '81 was built. (Or, for that matter, the RX-3, which IIRC had a 1972 build date)
