I hate to ask such a simple question when you guys are doing all this major rework, but does anyone know where I can get wiper blades for my 79 GS? I can't find blades anywhere. All I can find is wiper assemblies but they don't fit.
Doubt I will ever find a TWM manifold for the 12A. And even if I did, it wouldn't be legal.
The class my '81 competes in allows a carbureted car to run any carburetor, intake manifold, and air cleaner. Nothing in the rules says I can remove the air pump, so any intake setup I use must retain the air pump. And solenoid rack.
Part of the project is going to be adapting the Nikki's TPS to the dummy shaft, so the vacuum advance works properly. Because why not.

the SCCA rule book can be so dumb sometimes. Nice work around.

...this is the part where I tell you that I'm on the RX rules committee, was one of the three people who rewrote the Mod class rules for 2022, and the Prepared allowance for alternate induction for carbureted cars was proposed by the person who used to have my car, specifically to make it legal to put a different carb on it...
You might appreciate the Mod rewrite. It is a very free and open class, and trying to hammerform that philosophy into the general SCCA "if it don't day you can then you cain't" rules mindset was simply not working unless you wanted a 50 page class definition, so the rules is being rewritten to be a definition of minimums rather than allowances. It's been a PITA as we try to concisely define the zeitgeist of the class under this new paradigm, and there are still some warts, but it has come together nicely.
It is still a work in progress because the RXB wants certain things and some competitors have brought up some issues (and the SCCA is "us" not "them"!) but it is about 90-95% done.
It nice to here that rules are being rewritten. I know one of the rules in prod that always made me scratch my head was that you could replace all body panels with fiberglass except for the doors. The doors had to be made of the original material. They didn’t help in protecting the driver because they were just a skin of sheet metal since the had to be gutted out for the roll cage and for weight. I guess I don’t have to worry about prod class rules since I sold that car a few years ago. And now I will be out of the Rx7 world for the first time since the late 80’s since my car is for sale on Bringatrailer.com
Been chasing a warm engine bogging/stalling when flooring it. Cleaning the carburetor bowls/jets and replacing the leaking AP diaphragm didn't help.
Saw the inner terminals of both Diamond ignition coils were badly corroded, so I took the screws out and sanded the terminals down till they were shiny again, hopefully this helps once I get it ready to run again.

let me see if i have some vintage blades. I put some 30 yo blades on my car that fit like a charm , im preety sure we had more in that bin too. They are old but new, i add some rubber 302 on the blades once a week to keep em spiffy
yesterday<--- i drove ~ 160 miles for the driver's door window glass. I followed a BMW that was going 80-90 mph on the highway. He would trip a spped trap before I got to it.
Installed the driver's door glass today. It has trouble going up and down for some reason, so I duct taped around the edges. Then I hope a cop will not demand that I lower my window when I'm stopped.
The other shattered when I was lowering it. Safelite doesn't carry the glass anymore and if they did it would be +$300 ! !
Glued the side molding under the gas filler with hot glue. I wonder if it will hold?
Gorilla water activated glue has held up 2 years for the other side molding.
I wire brushed the surfaces before gluing.

Good chance I'm too late here, but just wanted to mention that "most" wiper blades should work. I know for a fact that Trico reds will fit (part number: 16-1), and so should most other brands. What you're looking for is a blade that works with pin-style wiper arms. Ours are 3/16" if I recall correctly. I personally prefer PIAA wiper blades, but only their Si-Tech line (green package) include the adapter to work with pin arms. I 3D printed an adapter to work with the Super Silicone PIAA blades (red package) as I prefer the style and replaceable insert.
Note that you'll need to keep the pin that your old wipers were attach with, as it is removeable from the arm (not just the blade) and new blades do not come with them.
Hopefully that helps. If I was too late maybe it'll help someone else.
The OE wiper blades do not have removable pins. You have to replace the inserts.
I went through hell for this because my '84's (replacement) pins were so worn out that I needed some loosely attached zipties to hold the blades to the arms, and my '81 desperately needed new blades but it had the OE wipers and, surprise, it's really hard to find inserts that fit. A car guy I know heard me lamenting and he came up to me the next day with a baggie with four wiper arm pins and told me to have a nice day!
I remember throwing so many of those pins out... now wipers don't come with them.
Anyway. Getting too cold to work without heat, but I paid a visit to the Batcave anyway to visit my toys.
Should probably work on putting stuff away and throwing some other stuff out.... Anybody need 12A side housings? I have a wall's worth of shelving full of them...
I bought these bosch years ago from Rockauto. They have a little pin, have yet to confirm they are the exact same size. Haven't gotten to that yet. Can do a fit check if needed to confirm.
Side housing.... I'm always interested in more wall art. Any chance you have an eccentric shaft too? I tossed my spares a decade ago. Still kicking myself now that I have the space.
Edit... That thing actually ran with all that flaking. Had it rebuilt shortly after that and just recently blasted the housings for the wall.
Oh, and i just inspected my oil cooler and found out it's complete junk. Anyone want this thing? I'm looking at fc coolers now since the s1 coolers are getting harder to find in good shape. The weld on an fittings worked really well.
We've had some surprisingly good weather lately, so today I began swapping around my fuel pumps again. Going EFI has left the single Walbro GSL391 a little high and dry on both output and the fact that it seems to be picking up more air than it (and I) would like. So to kill two birds with one stone, a surge tank is going in the car.
So far I have the Carter P4070 back in as the lift pump and now I need to sort out where the high pressure pump will live (the Carter blocks the old location). Since everything is coming apart anyway I'm also swapping to a GSL392HP (255) since the 391 was barely sufficient to start with. The tank is a little 2L setup that will be mounted under the drivers side bin area (although there's no bins since it's an SA). Didn't really want it in the car, but there's no room underneath and the majority of surge tanks seem to end up in the vehicle anyway. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get all the under-car work wrapped up as the rain returns Saturday. Though I won't be able to fully complete it until sometime next week as I need a couple AN fittings that are not available locally.
