85 GSL-SE:
Took her in to the Alignment shop. Had them replace the Tension Rod bushings, add two shims to the left strut and do an alignment. The shims helped a lot. One of the PO's had an accident and the frame is a little bent. Now the left front wheel doesn't drag on the fender when I go over a bump with the wheel turned. I should probably consult with a frame shop to see if it can be straightened.
Yesterday I looked at an 84 GSL-SE on Craigs list for $1500 with no photos. The paint is dreadful but I could't find any rust in any of the usual spots. It does not run. It is a 2+2 and has power steering. Two options I have never seen before. Blue with Blue interior. It looks like the interior is in fair condition but it is all apart so tough to tell. I certainly dont need another project car. I have a couple of weeks to think about it before I could do anything anyway. Maybe it will be gone by then and I wont have to decide anything.
I am leaving for Seven Stock on Wednesday morning. Hoping to caravan in from Vegas on Friday with the Sin City crew.

It is 1070 miles to Las Vegas using the preferred route. Looks like 1288 to Fontana. After 7 Stock I will visit my parents in Hemet CA and sisters in Long Beach and Manhatten Beach and then head north to the Bay area to visit friends. I expect to add around 3500 miles to the odometer on this trip. Hope she is up to it. As I mentioned previously the last time I did a trip like this in an FB was in 1986. On that trip it was a larger loop and was closer to 4000 miles. And the car was only 4 years old. This car had her 29th birthday in October. What does that make her in human years?
We got 3 inches of snow last night but this should not be an issue for the drive out tomorrow morning. I've got a limited slip diff and I am not afraid to use it.
The excitement builds.

Confirmed that in fact my trailing is firing before my leading. looks like i'm not taking crazy pills after all!
RPM signal filter didnt do ****, so my rpm switches still occasionally jump to insanely high RPM values, causing the 6ports or VDI to actuate too early for a split second. The odd thing is that even tho the RPM switches are wired identically from the same source, power, and ground, they jump independently of each other.
The car is somewhat driveable, likes to die when coming to a stop (but i can free-rev just fine), so I'm calling it good enough to drive to the show this weekend. It's not a drag race, and she looks plenty fine sitting still. So hopefully i can manage to creep her into the show without her dying too many times!

^^ Ditto! Met DivinDriver and dougingraham while I was there. Divin's SA is unbelievable. Doug's FB is also in amazing condition. And driving it all the way from SD!
Lots of amazing cars out there. Mazda brought their two Cosmos out (a first gen and a 4th gen (I think). There was a super-clean RX-5 Cosmo out there, so towards the end of the evening, Japanese Nostalgic Car managed to talk the Mazda tent into doing a photo shoot with 3 generations of Cosmos. You should have seen the look on the RX-5 owner's face when they asked him if he'd be willing to have his car photographed with the two Mazda-owned cars.
I got to sit in the 787B prototype...never thought they'd allow that. It was like getting into a space capsule.
The final Mazda 4-rotor demonstration run of the day was the best. The 787 and the 4-rotor FC were out there tearing it up until they got a white flag right around dusk. They stopped right at the bridge my buddy and I were standing at. Sitting there. One pulled up a little further than the other and they just sat...brap.brap.brap.brap. I then realized they were doing an impromptu photo shoot. The lighting was perfect. Once the shoot was done, they took off, shrieking like banshees, shooting fireballs on their downshifts. Glorious!
But to keep this thread on topic, today I took my daughter out to sit in the FB so she could pretend to drive, and slide the EQ sliders. She wanted me to drive her around, but I told her it would have to wait until next weekend. My car fun was over for the weekend and I knew mom would have none of that.

Looks good on you fm.
I tweaked my timing and fuel mix to the point where it wouldn't start this morning to go to work. Got home before dark, and for all my wit I cannot get her to start again... Cranking strong but sounds like no spark or no fuel... Boy am I in the dog house. Took his van to work and need to again tomorrow.
