I skipped the pudding and went straight for the proof. 80 proof, to be exact. Single malt. 15 years old. For strength.

Got her home just in time to get buried under the snow.
Most of it has melted off this morning, now I've just got to
bundle up and head out for a "get to know you" session.

i patted peepers on the rear... and my FC turned 23! it was built on march 1st 1989.

and the Triumph turns 56 sometime this month, it was built in march of 1958....

peepers is september, libra, Positive: outwardly expressive, extrovert, the element in its most concentrated or active form - associated with push, energy, and enterprise.

Bit the bullet & took my front and rear housings in for lapping; the scuff damage to the rear should lap out fine, and the 'new-used' front could benefit from a half-thousandth shaving to clean up the fog rash and slight stepped wear.

I was nervous about re-use with measurable step wear, but I knew my old center had been lapped to the minimum before, & didn't want to end up short on free play. It was still within factory re-use spec.

Now that I'll have a full-thickness center and near-full front, I can risk having the rear flattened a touch without running out of total thickness.

So I'll have four fresh faces and four fresh oil rings, and all other seals are well within spec (The apexes in particular are minty in smoothness and dimension.)

Kinda blowing my budget for this build, though. And my schedule is completely out the window.

Pulled the motor, fuel tank, seats, and carpet. Then finished de-pinning all the useless crap in the harness, and started cleaning the motor.

Got my new tires. My mother stopped in South Bend, IN at the TireRack warehouse and got them for me, thus saving me about $250 in shipping, brokerage, customs duties, etc. Yokohama S.Drives in 195/40/16 and 215/40/16 to go on the BBS RS. Just have to do the wet sanding on one lip then I've only got one lip left to do.... Then I have to strip the inner barrels, polish the center nuts and reassemble them. That's all. Hopefully can get them finished by the end of the month.

A couple of days after picking up a GSL, I run across an add in a nearby town for an SE with only 40k selling for 800 bucks.

Figuring there's no way in hell the wife would even think about it, I give her a call anyway.

So, I'm like "You'll never believe what jus showed up on Craig's List! Another 7 for only 800, and it's really low mileage. Too bad about the timing, eh?"

Wife's reply "Should we get it?"

The surprises never end. Of course it was sold by the time I called, but still...

If we could only predict the days they behave like that

Ordered a new 81-83 fuel sender & gasket from mazda ( 93$ ) to go in the prototype ReSpeed baffled aluminum tank for the '79 T2 project . The '79 sender contacts were too corroded.

Amen to that!

I mounted up my gauges for my swap from big ol' system in the GS

To a single-din Kenwood deck with these gauges under or above it (haven't decided yet)
