We were talking about going with a stock looking black pin strip but kinda leaning toward something that will stand out, like red.
Black is at the top of the list.

Dont hold back guys. Posted the pics to get the honest opinions. Good thing about the pin strips, they can be removed.
About the hood comment. That may be next on the list. The intercooler pipe is touching the hood and when launched the motor twistes and causes the pipe to hit the hood. Installed solid motor mounts to prevent this so hope the scoop is not necessary but was in my thoughts.
Keep in mind this is a drag car only. (expected to go 9.6et) Last one went 9.9 145mph. Painted with rattle cans for 100$. Rust-oleum from home depot. Painted in a storage unit with the door open for ventilation. Wet sanded then buffed. Paint came out surprisingly good but needed something to take away from the paint and these strips did that. Since the color has no pop to it. BUT they can be removed and the double stripes can be installed.

the original color for the pin striping on a sunbeam silver car was maroon. i have seen black pin striping but maroon is much more common and looks great imo. i say if the interior is maroon, go with the maroon striping. if the interior is black, go with the black pin striping.

Plans are to make the Ennis IFO event.
Fuel is Q16 now. Trying to push the 37/40psi range for the event. Had to go with another rear end since the crash bent the last one. Things seem good but still have not made a all out pass yet.
About the strip thing. Car has no interior. No dash, carpet, Nothing just a cage and gauges and ECU wiring.
Have not removed that barbed wire stripes yet but it does seem no one likes them so I'm still deciding on what to do. The double black just looks like another RX7. Wanted something that kinda stood out but not ugly. Maybe a double maroon strip would do the trick.

This is what my last 79 model looked like when it ran. I just wanted the current one to be one solid color that looks OK from the stands, reason for using the rattle cans. But after wet sending and buffing the paint came out good. You can see were I did not wet sand enough to remove some of the over spray but at night it looks good.
I did finally get the last 7 completely primered and then this happened. Lost control in third gear and hit both walls with out touching the brakes. 90/100mph

[QUOTE=sleeper7;11018327]How's yours coming?
I am done with e85 too and tore it all down changing everything fuel, intercooler, turbo, oil coolers, radiator location, still keeping microtech if I get the car ready for Ifo, after that I will switch ecu, just got the engine in the other day and waiting on parts, hope I make it
so when you broke the plate were you still on E85?
