VIN Decoder

VIN Decoder
Does anyone know if there is a website where you can decode the VIN of your SA/FB? I just purchased a 1st gen yesterday for the LSD rear end (GSL model), and it has a lot of strange features.
First of all it has power door mirrors that look like some i've read are from Euro-Spec SA22C's.
Second, the front fenders have what look like Euro-Spec marker lights (round amber lights around the area of the RX-7 fender badge, w/o the corner marker lights on the fenders).
The front and rear bumpers, along with the body side lines and the rear facia (tail lights included) are S2-S3, yet the VIN reads "SA22C________". The title's VIN and the chassis VIN match, yet the title reads "1983".
I have a hunch that I may have stumbled across a LHD, Euro-Market import.

i have a vin for an 84 fb.. it says JM1FB3314E0800379
83 would be D
84 would be E
85 would be F
cars switched to the 17 digit serial number in 1980 (USDM)

It is definitely NOT a USDM model. SA22C668065 is the VIN. VIN corresponds to a 1982, yet the title says 1983. Maybe it was produced in 1982 and sold as a early 1983? But still with the S2 dashboard? Very odd car.
So you think it's a Canadian vehicle?
From what I can tell, it's a S2 with a SA22C VIN. Were Canadian S2 and S3's considered SA22C cars?

It wouldn't be a North American car. The Canadian cars were basically the same as what we got. Only subtle differences (like headlight squirters on the S3 cars). Most likely you have a Euro spec car or something similar (some other countries got what was like the Euro spec with some differences).
Even if it was a USDM '83, it would still have the S2 dash as the '83 cars were still considered S2s. However, the rest of the world did not get the S3 interior update for 84/85. So, even if it was a Euro '85, it would still have what we consider an S2 dash.
The rest of the world remained having the SA22C VIN. The reason it changed in the North America in '81 was due to a law to standardize the VIN codes.
You might be able to search around a bit to try to find more details. Things like CARFAX will not work as it doesn't have the longer VIN code that started in '81 (carfax will not accept a shorter VIN).
I assume it is a LHD car. Could have possibly come from central/south america or was brought over from a non-UK european country. If LHD, it is not a Japan or Aussie car either. So, wherever it came from, it was probably from a country which received very few RX-7s since all of the bigger importers are ruled out.
Post some pics!

Could this be her? http://www.facebook.com/people/Cynth...eph/1814881704
May come from this family line (Netherlands region): http://www.schripsema.nl/
Looks like a MPH speedo, but metric oil pressure. The bins look like maybe from an FC car.
Pretty cool. It would be neat if that was her on Facebook. Maybe you can get more about the history of the car. Netherlands would be LHD and would have the Euro-spec goodies. Netherlands should be KPH (instead of MPH), but maybe they (or a nearby country) may have used MPH when the car was made..or could have been converted to MPH when imported.
Very interesting car!

looks "e" spec to me too. im not 100% sure what that entails, but notice the speedo has been switched, and they ADDED rear marker lights UNDER the moulding.
afaik the E spec, is rear discs, rear wiper, rear wing, the rotor wheels, the round side markers, dual color side marker on the fender.
