Hey I was just wondering if someone could tell me what the suspension component is called that is sandwiched between the strut and the lower control arm

The top long part with the two bolt holes is the steering knuckle, mounted to the lower ball joint top stud via a castle nut and cotter pin, which is (according to Mazda) a non-replaceable part of the lower control arm though some people have had replacements pressed/tacked in.
The strut carrier/axle assembly mounts to the top of the steering knuckle via those two bolt holes.
The torn rubber boot is considered part of the ball joint, though you can find replacements for them sold separately.
