...and here's a quickie how-to on making one - - I added hanging straps so I could keep my "other" roof safely stored in the garage.

I thought they were leather. Hmm. I think I still have mine tucked away somewhere. I rarely remove the roof because I stop a lot when I'm driving around town and have no faith in the average person to leave my car alone.

Done.
The rear seat was available on all our cars over here, and trust me, you guys got the better deal getting the storage boxes.
Its a ridiculously small area to put a seat and anyone over the age of 5 can't fit in there anyway.
Most guys over here remove the seat and ditch it in favor for some home made storage bins and/or a bit of a stereo system.
I had done that in the past with my last Rx-7, but this time I wanted to keep the seat for when I have kids and can take them for a ride.
I also have the Mariah Motorsports rear hatch fitted to the car, so I have even less space than a normal Rx-7.
The rear speakers are playing in a "free air" sort of design if you like. But with the rear hatch closed they do sort of slot into a limited area of space in the sides of the hatch and work quite well there.
The stereo system in the back is all bolted in on factory mounting points and can be entirely removed and returned to stock if need be. Thus why the subwoofer tube was chosen as it can easily be removed when I take the car to track days to help get rid of any extra weight.
Here's some pics of my dodgy handiwork. It was never meant to be pretty, just functional.
