SA ****

Well Fall has come to Alaska - winter is just around the corner, while the rest of you lucky bastids continue to bask in summer. I spent a few choice hours when the Sun Gods were smiling to capture some imagery (and memories) of the SA before she's put to bed for 7 long months...

...and then I decided to go for the "dark studio" look - but, lacking said studio, I set up the car and my TV production lights in the back 40 and spent midnight till 5am trying to capture that studio "look" - bit hit-and-miss, what with all the damn trees in the background - and 5-to-15 second exposures...
Still...

Very pretty Stu, nice photos. You Alaskans are good at doing things in the dark. That is one fine car.

WOW!! Very nice. It really is unfortunate that you have to put her away for 7 months. It is the total exact opposite from here in Texas. I do not drive the SA22 for 4-5 months during the summer because it is too hot without AC.... I am finally gearing up for those cool crisp days of fall and early winter.... I can't wait!

Holy Mother of GOD!!!! Those pics have cured me of my recent depression and have motivated me to take the next therapy step - washing my cars. Anybody else find washing cars to be good therapy?

With your creative eye, are you for hire Stu? What a pro you are with a camera and lighting.

Thanks for the medicine.

That's some beautiful work, Stu. Make sure you bump a couple of those to the "calendar" thread - - they are pro-worthy!

i work at a carwash, so it's kinda the exact opposite for me i do enjoy washing cars, but there's only so many you can wash in one day before it gets old...

Just doing what we all like to do: Spread The RX-Love!

Mike- would lavish my modest photog skills on your SA twins ANYtime, brutha!
- and yeah, I DO find washing the SA to be theraputic. I bullsh!t you NOT, that I try to keep her looking like that all the time - got a rep to maintain in this land o' Giant P-Ups!

These were shot at UBER-rez so they could be poster-worthy if one was so desirous - Jeezus PM me with your email and I can fire you of a multi-MB version of your choice(s)

cheers

Stu,

Looks awesome! Those are some great pics. Too bad your season is so short, but you're not the only one. Keep those pics up on the wall, and wait for May...

Cleaning cars is great therapy, although working on them sometimes is quite a headache! Very nice SA by the way. It's great to see another nice looking SA still on the road after all these 30 some years. How are the RX-8 seats treating you? Good clearance? How difficult are they to install, or are they a direct swap? Not that I don't love my black pleather seats...

Thanks
I _LOVE_ them but the install was - er- not exactly straight forward. Fit fine, but floor adapt was a challenge w/o screwing up original mount points, which I refused to do. My originals were absolute crap - the old-school ***-bake-vinyl (not the later velour inserts )

-and the little rotor cut-outs are a kick....
