started sanding
well this morning i woke up excited that i had my keys again..and starting doing some body work...i pulled off the bumper gaurds.. dented in a bunch of pulled out areas from where the wing was installed, as well as the targa top..and proceeded to wet sand the car! i going to paint her soon and i want the body as clean as i can possibly get it... the front bumper is in some pretty bad shape... i got some little dings in the hood... but over all not too bad! here is the color im thinking of doing...though i think it may a bit too bright of a blue...
Yeah, that's a bit bright. What grit paper are you using and why wet instead of dry sanding for the first sanding stage? It might pay to Google auto paint prep work and find a decent how to. Wet sanding is 400 and finer grits. first stage sanding usually starts with 80, 120 or 220 grit, depending on paint condition and how many layers need removed. Wet sanding at this stage could end up promoting rust under the current paint where there are rock chips, bare spot or body putty.
i forgot to mention the after bondo.. scratch filler that i was wet sanding as well as the bondo...not the car... and i have shot primer over those areas..and i have been sanding the actual car with a 220 grit paper, but thanks for the flame/info guys! as for the blue yeah deff. no go! way to carolina panthers! so its going to be more of a dark royal blue...

Kudos on the work and motivation.
Keep in mind that primer doesn't do much of anything for rust prevention - - it's porous on purpose!
Don't let her run about in her knickers longer than is necessary.

Man, I remember sanding my RX7. What a pain that was. AND I have to do it again! Little mis-haps here and there plus removing the engine will give me more area to paint. I hate having an orange car with red engine compartment.
I honestly spent WEEKS sanding my car to get it where it is.
First, 80 grit on the original paint / clear coat.
120 grit after that to smooth it out.
Pull out dents, put on metal glaze, sand with 80, then 120 followed by 220. Repeat this process until your dents are all gone.
After that, sane entire car with 220.
Prime, sand with 320, prime, sand, sand sand.
Paint.
Clear.
Wetsand, wetsand, wetsand.
Good luck on the process!
