Is It Spring Yet?

This "heat wave", if you can call it that, of 32+ degree weather up here in the Midwest has been killing me. Getting the itch for that rotary goodness pretty bad. Especially with all the go-faster-bits I've got just waiting to go on!

The collection:
Mazda Factory Option 3-piece IMSA spoiler, Twin 4" polished exhaust tips (They were free, not sure if I'm using them yet, front and rear Koni Yellows, LSD 3rd member with 4.78 ring and pinion, Racingbeat rear adjusting sway bar with poly bushings, Magnaflow muffler #1. Not pictured: Series 4 FC Transmission

Still to arrive: Rotors/pads, Magnaflow twin outlet muffler #2, Re-Speed adjusting front sway bar and refinished wheels

Anybody else awaiting some warm weather to get back to having fun?

You need some indoor work space so that you can be installing all this while it's crappy outside. The nice weather should be for enjoying the fruits of the winter rebuilding. What ever happened to that MN fourm site? After redeploying, I could no longer find it.

I have the RB rear bar as well. It's fantastic on full stiff, so you better hope you never want to adjust it, because it's a PITA to do it. I wish I had an indoor space to work as well. If it was maybe 10* warmer I could do it outside but as it stands my fingers would go numb in minutes. I have a list of work to do, and since it's kinda cold, though warm for February, I have no motivation to go outside and try. One thing I can do inside though is refinish the BBS RS wheels I bought for myself for Christmas. The new rad and TII brakes will have to wait til Smarch.

I wish i did have an indoor heated garage to keep it in for the winter. As far as the MN group, I assume youre talking about northstar rotaries? They disbanded a couple years ago from what ive heard.

When the bar is set to full stiff would you say the car is somewhat balanced when running a front sway bar if not a little over-steer happy?

It's well balanced with my RE-Speed front bar and if it gets a little tail happy I just soften the rear shocks. I would like to be able to adjust it for when I finally hit up a track day. For street and autocross it's fine on full stuff.

I know what you mean Funk, last year at this time in MN we had snow for almost 4 months straight, like 6 feet of accumulated snow so far, and temps were in the 0-20*F range. I'm really starting to wonder if there isn't an issue with the time-warp continuum right now, because I have the rotary itch as well. I'm working on LED marker lights, tail lights, and I have an S4 alternator, oil filter pedestal, I rebuilt my master clutch cylander, slave clutch cylander, and I want to get my brakes done and I'm getting an FC FMOC soon. But God knows I WILL NOT be putting my baby on the road until 2 rains after the stupid MNDOT quits putting salt on the roads. She hates salt almost as much as I do.

Im interested to see how your tail lights turn out. I may have to send you a spare set of tail lights and some cash if they look sweet lol. I'm running the S4 alt and the FC FMOC so if you need a hand with those lemme know. If only you werent so far away... lol

Theyre saying there might be a snow storm in the middle of February, but other than that, really not a whole lot. Rain in the end of March as well.

Sounds awesome, I'll keep in touch. I will probably need some assistance in the FMOC swap, I have done some work with hydraulics with an old Kubota tractor so I think that will help with the hose conversion and such (12a won't accept FC 13b lines, as you know).

I may have to bring a set of LED marker lights with me for a greeting gift if you'd be interested haha I am going to have my full write up on how to convert FB marker lights to LED. Like 8 LEDs in the space less diffused where the original halogen bulb goes. Much brigher and better looking, the full write up with pictures should be up sometime in the next 3 days. I think in total they were only like $1.22 for me to make a set of 4! Goal is to make it so people would just have to snip the original wires, slip my LED board in, and it would be set to go. I'll post the link on here for you to check out.

Yeah as long as you have the lines figured out, its a breeze to mount. Granted my lines were easy since i did a FC 13B swap when i did the FMOC swap lol.

Id love to check em out. I've been following your thread about it. Cant wait to see th car this summer, right?! lol

Sounds awesome! Thread is up about the LED marker lights now. Stupid question, are your rims 4 x 110? Wondering because I'm looking into swapping my 84 GS's hubs and axle to GSL-SE.

Yeah I'm still 4x110, drums in the rear. Im pretty sure I'll do a 5 lug swap with mosler axles and FC hubs rather than upgrading to GSLSE hubs. Might as well go all out.

yeah this phili winter was the worst. I gotta get motivated to finish up the wiring and the money to get it running. As it sits now I need at least $1k just to start the car and another $1k to get it on the road. Then I gotta transfer my TN title and tags to DE.
