I am not positive but I have seen 83 perhaps first half of 83 model years have tan but otherwise the doo doo brown interior. i've been lucky enough to find a mint condition used dash which replaced my dry cracked one as well as a mint center counsel. I was super lucky to find a brand new rear storage bin as the hinges on both of mine are broken. Also I found a brand new door sill. Still on the hunt and collecting another mint or new rear bin and trims around the doors and rear hatch area!
By attachment of hinge material, a Hinge of storage bin can be repaired. To achieve the proper color match, you have need only to provide a small sample of plastic for manufacture. Therefore if your rare broken hinges bins are in their other aspects sound and good, it is worthwhile to retain them for posterity. The S3 brown shade, a more rich brown color, is known as the infamous "doodoo brown."

Got that right... I have pictures from the 70's, wearing plaid pants. And a belt about 3" wide.

With bell bottoms no doubt. You gotta show us the pics DD of you in your plaid pants.

After all, it's that '70's "thinking outside the box" that brought us the revolutionary wankel powered 1st gen RX-7 in the first place.

In my opinion, nothing beats a mint SA with original plaid interior, the ultimate unobtanium.

I'll have to scrounge about for em... they're actual photos, never digitized to this point.

I think mine were pre-bellbottom, as I recall. And there weren't any homeless people in Nebraska; winter thinned 'em out.

Here's an example of the general idea... Probably 1975 or within a year or two.

Those were the days

Nice photo DD, even looks like it's a genuine kodacolor print. I don't have any photos from back then either, I was too poor to afford a camera or film and too busy hanging out in the desert or marching on Washington to take pictures. But I'll check with the FBI, they probably still have some stuff on file.

How about a rotor shaped ash tray?

I also have a mazda cassette cleaning kit:

I also have a factory fresh graphic equalizer upgrade kit:

I also now have a set of dual weber 36DCD's. Those are pretty rare:

The local mazda dealer used to have a box of the cleaning kits. They were selling them off at $1 each and then just ended up giving me the rest. I only have two left, the one in my car and the minty one in the photo.

NOS JDM SA "Limited" badge - sent by friend from Japan a few years back...
On these top-line models, this mounted where our US SA "Rotary Engine" badge fits on rear.

It got like this inside, after 30 years on the car:

More appropriately NOS rather than absolute unobtanium, since you can still buy them for around $70 bucks... but I bought this particular one back in 2003, for half that.
