The sound of a 12A

Playing with a cell phone holder as a hoodlum-cam. The idea with the placement is that you don't see where, how fast, or all the moms with strollers I am scaring but still get some shifting and noises. Sounds is pretty decent; y'all like a 12A's hum?

I'm still dialing in the carb mixture screw after the car's resurrection. Every time it's colder or warmer than last time I did it, it gets a little off. So I occasionally get that slightly lumpy idle; there's no porting overlap, don't get too excited

I can’t remember if this is the Holley in the car currently.
If so get used to making adjustments to it as temp/humidity/baro pressure changes. That’s life with a Holley carb. At least these days the gaskets are better quality and don’t shrink during periods of unuse and easier to clean up.
Every year after winter hibernation,a r&r and cleaning of carb with fresh gaskets was in order on my Mustangs and Shelbys that had pretty wild cams and wouldn’t have much drivability til carbs were gone thru .

One of the several reasons fuel injection appeals to me.

It's a hogged Nikki. No elevation compensator or choke or anything so the overall tuning on it will probably always be a compromise. I have it set to idle cold w/o a choke, which means a slightly higher (1000) idle when warm.

I'd like to play with EFI on one of these, but 12A FBs have a lot of momentum toward using a carb. If/when I blow up this engine and decide to put a REW in it, I'm pretty sure I'll go with a standalone EFI.

I have a Buell Ulysses which you can tune/remap with a laptop computer, and I had a lot of fun tuning it with a laptop in my backpack, logging data and making adjustments. I was able to get it to Texas and back over the Rockies a couple times and the fueling behaved, so I think I did it right

Sounds great. Gives me some motivation to get my '81 out of the garage after three years and running again.

Your mostly gonna gear the belt, but here's an EFI 12a I've been working on. (Swipe right for video in link below)
