I think the designers in Japan had this car in mind when drawing up the 1st RX-7. What do you say?

Or pick you choice of mid-to-late 60's Italian Erotica for the typical long, low hood - short rear deck look. And the pop-up lights...
The uncanny resemblance to the '77 Porsche 924 always gives me pause...
too much of a coincidence? But the basic shape of the X-605 (proto-RX7s) was pretty much baked-in by the time the Porsche hit the streets.
