So, the other day I was browsing for exhaust clips and went through the"post sound clips of your exhaust" thread. After 9 pages, only two of the links worked. Accordingly, I decided to put together a page where you can find all the sound clips in one place! Now you can hear 40+ sound clips, all of which are pre-loaded to the webpage - that means no downloading and NO BROKEN LINKS! As a community we can make this page even better! Please post links or email (info@rx7boutique.com) me sound files of your exhaust and I will post them on the webpage. Together, we can create a large, in-depth exhaust sound clip gallery. Right now I believe there are 42 sound clips, if we pull together, I can easily see this number doubling. As Fdseoul would say, PURE PORNO!!!!

Although i like what you did.

We should get video clips as well. Because not only do people wanna know what it sounds like, but what it looks like on the car.

Then when we have all those video clips, sticky that thread with the link at the very top of the 3rd gen section and leave it there to rot lol

 

I thought about the video clips, I just don't think my server can handle it ATM. I have all the videos saved to my computer, so maybe in the near future? Plus, I can only post it in the same format, so loading 40+ videos would take some time when someone tries to access the page.

Well i just checked youtube and there are ALOT of different exhaust vids for the FD. Maybe not as much as your sound clip link but a majority of them are there.

So maybe i was thinking, as a secondary source for exhaust vid/sound clip, maybe setup an exhaust only link (from youtube), that shows exhaust vid clips for the FD.

Like just post a link, and that link will give you vids only of exhaust clips. No other misc vids.

FYI, i noticed the PFS is from my video!!!! lol

 

LOl I believe your video was the only working exhaust clip in the "post your exhaust" thread besides mine. The problem with linking videos is I would need to check if the youtube users takes off the video or if their is a problem. I would not have a problem if you wanted to sit down for hours and code it though

Is there anyway that you could put additional info? As in if the test cars have a Cat/MP/Resonated MP, as we all know each can have a great effect on exhaust tone.

 

Unfortunately, I did not have any of that information available, most of the videos just said what exhaust it was. Or, it was entirely in Japanese and I had to identify it by the video, unfortunately, there is nothing I can do about that :/

I agree, which is why i mentioned the video clips for youtube (cause most of them have that type of description).

I think we owe it to this site and its members to try to get these video clips up.

Then maybe someone with be so kind and save all of them to their computer, then upload them so it will be permantly there. (in response to brian about losing the video when someone takes it down).

Like i've said, there are alot of them already on youtube. Not really with in depth descriptions but its a good start.

Or maybe we should start making our own??

I have a bones 3" down pipe/rx7 store 3" magnaflow mid pipe/ and racing beat 3"single tip exhaust. Its so quiet when its idling its unbelievable. i will take a sound clip and post it for those of you who don't like loud cars when idling.

 

I'll have to try to upload a sound clip or video of my GP Sports Exas Spec II exhaust. I'm running it with a 3" DP, and 3" midpipe w/ Borla XR-1 resonator.

 

dude you passed by bell blvd the last week or so and i saw your car but you where going to fast for me to say whats up. you cars exhaust loudness is maybe a 6 out of 10 not too bad.

 

Yeah its not too bad until I get on it. I saw you at the Vintage Rotary meet a month or so ago but didnt know it was you and when I went to introduce myself you already left. Next time you gotta chase me down haha, I dont go too fast on the streets.

 

I say we start making our own I will have to look into the video situation, but at 40+ videos that are on average 20MB, that is 800MB of space. You guys don't buy enough parts for me to upgrade to a new server, lol.

Your re-amemiya ti will be shipping next week. Not sure if I want to hear it or see it, I CANT afford to buy another exhaust for my fd.

Nice job in compiling these, but you should make the quicktime clips load only when the user clicks play, and not preload all at the same time

also why should the browser's cache be cleared?

 

LOL fair enough. 800MB is THAT bad, considering most POS starting dell setups have like 300GB hard drives.

But yeah the sound clips is a good idea for now until we figure out what to do.

But if and when you do decide to do the video thing, we should set up a thread and have people chime in with their different exhausts and they should be so kind and make a good video of it.

I wouldnt mind making another (better) video of my PFS.

The sound clip from Tanabe's website isn't very good. On the Tanabe Touring Medallion, the sound cuts in and out. Its also a stock car, with just catback, and the MOO-ing airpump

but yeah, if u decide to put video page, just have ppl upload them on youtube and link it on the site for direct play. great way to save server space.

The best part about the clips is playing them all at once and it sounds like the start of a rotary themed track day ^_^
