i probably own the cheapest one out of everyone it sucks, it really does nothing as far as feel or grip, it spins around and falls off on hard shifts but i think it looks great...and it used to look better :P

and in case you don't know what it is, it used to look something like this:

http://www.bitwisegifts.com/page/bg/...na-*****/12606

i really should go back to stock for SOOOOO many reasons, but its always cool to open up the secondaries look down and see a little devil smiling at you

In the first picture you can see a crease in the shifter boot of where it originally was stock, and now the new "crease" is about 1/2 inch lower.

Here is mine... Grant Corsa GT, it matches the wheel. The second pic is before the Rotary Shack shifter. So much nicer not having that awful Mack Shifter

Thumbs up At Long, Long Last...

"At last, my arm is complete again!"

After many a false start, false alarm, and a number of abandoned auctions, I have finally scored my car's heart's desire...

Haven't even tried it out yet, as my carb is once again in bits across my workbench, trying to find the cause of that god-bedamned post-shutdown flood.

Yeah; paid more than I'd care to admit, but since our new friend that was parting the 79 out just up and vanished halfway through his sale, I just wasn't going to let a nice one go by. Too darned hard to find!

-8's ***** are certainly cool. Heft and weight is big surprise! Like a paper weight! Pleasant surprise to have the threads match our 7s!! Found this 5-speed version in Europe, where the base model comes with a 5-speed. Occasionally load it up on the shift for a drive - goes nice with the -8 seats... then its back to the old-skule SA leather

I've taken a couple drives with my "correct" shift **** in place now. After having just gotten used to the heavy-weight S5 **** I bought last summer, it is surprisingly light and agile.

lol @ the thread being tagged openshot

oh and to stay on topic here's a picture of my favorite **** in my collection. RE-Amemiya "personal hotness". Its grey, but the heat from your hand makes it change color to black where your hand sits over time, and after a while of not using it the grey color easily comes back.

Just recently, I found out that my OE shift **** from a '95 miata fits on my FB! its in better condition than the one that was originally in there, and its counter-weighted too! woo! So, I guess shift ***** for the NA miata's fit on FB RX7's too.. interesting.. Oh, I have a '82 GS btw.

Team Voodoo ****, magnum, polished. The best **** ever, simple, gives that short throw feeling without the short throw price. I had one in every one of my cars.

This thread is also more proof that Mazda did a ****-poor job of engineering for the the proper fitment of the shifter boots.

Almost everyone's here has fallen out of place or is just kind "thrown into the hole"

We really need to come up with a permanent fix that looks great, without having to drill holes and what-not.

Perhaps some kind of Billet ring? IDK.
