S1 front lower control arms, Help! Lol

Was wondering if there is any guru on here that can confirm S1 front lower control arms will fit a 79 mazda 626 sedan?
done a bit of research (google) and they look exactly the same and seem logical that it would fit perfect
any help is appreciated

I can't say with certainty that it will fit but it does look close. The differences I see are the sway bar end link mount shape and the thickness of the end of the control arm where the ball joint presses in. Another area of concern is the angle of the control arm at the ball joint end. In the picture it appears that the 626 control arm is angled farther up than the RX-7 control arm. It may just be the picture but thats what I am seeing.

You would need to see what the part number of the 626 would be. If its the same as the rx7 then you are golden but not sure if it would be the same. The mazda OEM part number is 8871-49-310 and 320 for the right.

Maybe @j9fd3s can help?

the 626 was 8173-49-310 and 8173-49-320, so they are different, but how much is the question.

its too old my gizmo doesn't really have any information on aftermarket stuff

Wow those part numbers are so close. I would try getting one to compare if you can get an agreement to return it if it doesn't work for you.

I know this is a old thread but I went for it and I can confirm they are the identical except for a clip on the top passenger side 626 control arm that can be cut off if necessary. Both of the new control arms were sold as 626 control arms and the old ones are out of my FB.

Looks like the 626 might be a little bit shorter.

Maybe the angle I took the photo at or something? I also thought so to but they measure the same length and width as the stock control arms. Distance between the bushings also measures the same.. Mazdaboydownunder has already used them on his vehicle apparently. These will be going on this week.

I wonder if the balljoint might be slightly different which would cause the part number to be different. In some old thread I remember reading about using a 626 bj to facilitate some odd sway - like maybe using FC uprights or roll center correction or something
