Question Repairing badly damaged rear defrost

I have some hatch glass i want to put on my 82 off my 83 parts car to eliminate the wiper. Only problem is the defrost is badly damaged running vertical down one side and has breaks in the horizontal lines. Now my question is does anyone have any experience fixing this problem? Ive seen the frost fighter stuff but it says for small breaks ans its silver so it does not match the stock look. Thanks in advance.

they sell a repair kit for the defroster lines in most parts stores. i'm not sure how well it works or how easy it is to work with. i believe its made by permatex though..

I used the permatex brand that Dave mentioned. It was gold. Half the horizontal lines had 5-6" gaps. Taped the pattern carefully and applied paint. Worked great. I had to go to a Napa store to get it. Advance and Autozone guys were clueless.

The repair paint works well if you're careful with it. Follow instructions and it'll work out.

Repair paint works well. Just dont use the included mask, use some masking tape and make your own, as the one that comes in the package is far too wide.
