Project autocrosser got a new "proper" way to tow her
Well I got a good deal on a 24' Haulmark Enclosed trailer. I will now retire my open hauler to back to moving our tractor around.
My wife calls it my "rolling man cave" Thats only because I want to install a bar in it complete with plasma TV and jamming sound system!!!
I found out my Suburban's weakness. She needs a new radiator! Anyhow I am installing a new radiator, trans cooler and swapping the 3.42 gears out for 4.11. I already made the transmission bulletproof.... now need the rest!!
Anyhow, enjoy the pics!!

The Mazda on the back is a nice touch. I wish I had the money to get a nice trailer like that. Driving to the events and swapping wheels does get old. I have an old Ford conversion van that just sits around waiting for something to pull.
Yeah, but there's something to be said for the joy of passing all the trailer queens on their way home after kicking their asses on the course.
Especially when your racer has 235,000 miles on her and you're 300 miles from home!
Nice trailer Jim! One of these days.......

A nice side benefit, I now have more room in my garage!

Make sure that the trailer is well and I do mean well secured. For when it's stolen they end up taking two things not just one. Also worth visiting with your insurance agent about how they would handle just that situation. I've read to many posts on car forums over the years where their inclosed trailer with car inside gets stolen.
Otherwise consider me jealous. Nice setup there.

I have a lock on the hitch, but not on the hitch to receiver. Need to get a locking pin for that.
Also need to have a steering wheel lock. That old school suburban has no security devices at all!!

our trailer we just padlock all the doors, and there IS a lock on the hitch.
my other friend who lives in the city bought a car alarm for his, and it'll page/text him if and when it goes off. he also bought a lock for the hitch (its not an option, just buy one) and then he also has a lock for the hitch ball lever.
his trailer is pretty badass too, he put a winch in it, and hooked it up to a remote on his keychain, so he can hit a button and the truck starts, and another button and the car just gets pulled in
he is austin powers for halloween...

I also just installed an AC!! That will make the overnight stays at the track nice.
I have about 8 feet of extra room in front of the Mazda. So I have enough room for toys also!!!

is yours insulated? ours isn't and its black, so in the summer its like 1000 degrees inside. my friend's trailer is insulated and white, and its WAY better.

That AC is one I have had laying around for a few years. It is a piece of **** and is having a hard time cooling good in the heat of the day. It will turn the trailer into a little icebox at night. This will be OK for the overnight stays at the track....sleep in comfort.
If I need to have a place to get out of the heat, I need to hang a large blanket or use hanging plastic doors (Like commercial cold rooms). Or use accordion doors. If I section off a 8' by 8' area to cool... it should cool even on the hottest of days!
