New Acquisition '85GSL

I picked this car up last week from an ad on Craigslist. It has been in one family (grandmother purchased it new and I bought it from her grandson). The vehicle has no rust, 77.5K original miles, no accidents and all service records (including the original window sticker). It does need the front fender replaced and needs a clutch. I paid $875.00.

Sold by the same dealership as my first FB I ever owned! Youve got a good car there, they did a good job maintaining these and taking care of the owners...

Mines at 90K~ miles now and still have had 0 major maintenance since the purchase. Unless you count me painting it....

Looks like they outfitted my car exactly as yours, except mine was a different color. It has been the best investment I have ever made to this day

Nice find!

Please tell me you pulled the driveshaft before towing it! If you didn't don't drive too far before having a good look at your transmission.

That is a big coincidence. The good thing is she took it in a lot to maintenance the car. She even had it rust proofed twice and the first time was at 22 miles.

You where actually closer to the car than I was. The kid I purchased it off of is in Cortland, OH and I am in the Columbus area. The funny thing is I was hoping you would have a car like this for sale. You go through your cars with a fine tooth comb and I would love to purchase one from you as I can tell you do things right!

I really appreciate the compliments. I am down to two 7's and the red SE is going up for sale tonight. However, when and if you are ready to sell this one feel free to contact me.

Yeah, it was a real good deal. I am just lucky he was a stand up person. Before I could get there it to pick it up (due to weather), he ended up getting 34 emails and 19 calls and people where offering him a little more than asking price. If you where closer you would be more than welcome to pick up the fender once it is replaced

From everything I researched it said it would be OK to just have it in neutral. Even when I researched it on this site I was getting the same info. We will see. If I did damage it in anyway, I do have it covered.

I will keep you in mind, even though right now I cannot see that happening but you should never say never. If you where closer I would probably contract you to do some work on her. My first car was an '83 that I bought back in '89. I have the full streetport racing beat exhaust and a weber and lake ciities rotary manifold that I bought from Skip Goreman back in the day. I would probaby still have that car but when my mechanic put the weber on (I was in the Army at the time and sent him the parts) we found out the car had been hit and the shock tower had been welded in inproperly. He could not get the air cleaner on the weber. I just drove it with socks on it for years until I bought a GXL. I have always wanted to do a 1st gen and transfer my old stuff onto a good one. I also have some 13 inch Western mesh wheels, just wish more than one company offered 205/60-13's.

Thats only an issue for an automatic or a manual stuck in gear. Even the auto will
tow ok for a short distance with no issues.
