I did get your PM. Thanks!
Sorry, I have not been on here much: between jobs and moving.
I'm still trying to decide if I sell or not. I picked up a 2013 M3 and justified it by saying that I would sell the RX-7. Anyway, once I move into my new house I may feel differently once they are parked next to each other.

It has been a while since I have been on here with grad school and change of career and moving etc. However, I'm graduating this year and want to get back to the track. I decided to keep the FB and get back to tinkering and track days.
To start out the race season right, I picked up a mini-trailer. I still have my full car trailer but I may sell that if I can find a hitch for the FB and use this for race tires, a tent, and some tools.
I picked it up from a Corvette track guy who was hanging up his hat for $300. It is also a motorcycle trailer which makes a great excuse to pick up a bike if I can sell that idea to the wife. Remove four bolts and the tool box comes off and the side rails come off and form a ramp.
Once this snow blows over, I will clean it up as it has been sitting under a tree and is a bit dirty.
Any one have any suggestions on trailer hitches?

So, I was having some Microtech issues while tuing last summer. The Microtech was pulled and send to Australia to get reflashed. Meanwhile, some other electrical gremlins were worked out due to a previous owner using speaker wire in the ignition harness. All that had to be redone.
Microtech back in the car--starter blows up. New Mazda (FC) reman in the car. Put the car on the dyno to tune--wastegate blows up. It seems that I had a knockoff HKS wastegate that came my my genuine HKS manifold. New wastegate and plumbing.
Car is currently tuned and running great (at about 8lbs and 330 rwhp) will be turned up in a couple of months after I drive it a bit and bring it back for one final tune. Thing runs like a champ without the the electrical problems.
The trailer breaks had locked up after having sat so long and attempting to break them free gave me two flat tires. I need to sell that old thing anyway so I left it there and drove the 80 miles home with the wife trying to chase me in the X5. Thie thing is a blast!
Sunday afternoon, I gave it some much needed TLC by knocking a years worth of grime and crap off it and polishing up the BBS a bit. It is now safe for the first time in the garage (I did not have one last time I had the car).
I just had to snap some pictures. Will give the engine and interior some more TLC and I have a list of small items to work on ove the next few months.

Looks awesome. Love the color!! Great to see another Mariah
I have just started my Mariah widebody first gen project (car came with the kit installed) and can't for the life of me decide on color and wheels!
I think I want to run 17x8 +25 and 17x9.5 +0 (or there about) but I'm afraid of it looking too high in the back (225's up front and 255's in rear) I dunno.
I got it with 3 piece 15x8 and 15x10 elipsion wheels. But think I want to go bigger cause I plan on running TII hubs (with 626 lower ball joint on the stock LCA - a JDM trick) and evo bermbos etc and will need at least 17's to clear

I have not heard about EVO brakes on this thing yet. I have the TII breaks and they are great. Maybe I'll look into that upgrade if I ever feel like I ran out of stopping power. That has not happened yet so I do not have any need to upgrade. I like your wheels, but they are useless to me as I have the 5 lug setup along with the Re-Speed half shafts but I'm unsure if they are made anymore. I went with 16" due to the wider variety of tire sizes without having to go to 17s.

Back from the dead.
My engine crapped out. Once it was pulled there was metal fatigue (sunken) on the face of the rotors. Two new rotors later as well as new apex and corner seals I have her back.
However, I have since become involved in motorcycles and am no longer doing track days so the RX-7 is going to market. I will spend the weekend cleaning her and detailing her and then she will be posted.
New engine still needs to be broken in before final tuning. Final tuning and 12k engine warranty is included.

So, end of an era.
I don't know why or what I did wrong in another life, but this car was always broken for one reason or another. I actually got into motorcycles because I needed my speed fix.
So, as it was sitting in the shop getting trouble shot and not having driven it 1000 miles in the last five years, someone took a shining to it and offered to buy it. At that point (and being quoted thousands of dollars to get it running again due to the mechanics f up), I sold it.
I was a bit sad--at first. However I was throwing good money after bad and I do not miss the hole in my pocket for a car I couldn't drive.
I replaced it last weekend with what I call a "starter Porsche". It is a '09 base Carrera in a manual. It does not have the explosive acceleration of a turbo rotary, but it has a much better chassis and is so much more rewarding on the curves.Plus, it is CPO so no worries at least for the first two years. Rotaries will always have a special place in my heart and I may own one again. For right now though, I relearning driving with the P car.
Been too busy driving it to snap many of my own pictures, but here are the dealer pictures:
Still a little sad, but driving this car does put a stupid smile on my face.

I thought about parting her out but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. Stuff like the OS Giken LSD are worth a couple grand. I sold it to a guy with probably 10 rotaries (mostly 1st gens but one 3 rotor 3rd gen) so at least she went to a good home.
I was going to replace it with what I know (an M3) but I made the "mistake" of test driving a 911. I was hooked. Then it was just a mater of finding the right one at the right price. Needed to be '09 and later as the reliability is much better and it has a sweet DFI engine and many other upgrades. Had to be a manual. The year limited me to looking at the non "S" models. The extra 50 or so hp is great but not $10-$15 grand more great.
Here are some pictures of her in her new home and one with my other German boxer. Currently at 37k miles. I plan to increase that.

I totally understand. I wouldn't be able to part mine out either, not that I'll ever sell her. It sounds like she will be in good hands. Beautiful toys! I wish you all the best with the Porsche. When I win the lottery I am walking into my local dealerships and driving off with a 911 GT3 RS, in white. I've always had a sweet spot for 911s.
