Now, with yet another turbo and a slightly tweaked suspention, I will have to relearn the vehicle once again before taking it back out on the track.

After you said that, I went back and read all 12 pages again too, just to relive my journey.

I realized I never posted pictures of my current DD that had turned into my other toy. Since I don't have any pictures or updates, lets I'll post that now.

I have been doing some Dinan mods to it since the 7 has been down for a while.

It has Dinan S2 software installed which bumps the power to 378 with 415lbs of torque:

http://www.dinancars.com/shop/D900-3...de.aspx#page=1

I also installed the CF cold air intake and tinted the windows, but there will be more to come.

This has somewhat filled that void in my heart and garage, but I still need my 7 back.

Great looking car! But who's that weirdo loitering around it? ;:

Which model is that? Makes my 328 look like a cracker box.

Yeah, my girlfriend loves that car and insisted on taking pictures of it with me in the picture.

Obviously, from the HP numbers it is the 335 E9X. Purchased used but CPO and with all the bells and whistles. It makes a better daily driver than the E46 M3 that I sold last year, but I still do miss that car at times.

The M3 had the competition package and rode very hard and had no extras--even the seats were manual. It would have made a great track car if it wasn't so damn pretty:

My old room mate is from that area. I'm currently a senior project manager in the wind industry but have held a variety of jobs and positions..

Tuesday Update!

There is a paint defect that needs to be fixed on the driver's side door and that is why the mirror and handles are not mounted. Besides that, car is ready to go on the dyno.

Please excuse the crappy iPhone pictures and the fact that the car is dirty. You may also notice that all emplems have been shaved off and the holes welded over. The wheels still need to be put on as soon as find the lugnuts, but the one wheel mounted in the front gives you an idea of what it will look like.

You can almost see the CF brake ducts which came from an FC race car and are mounted deep in the bumper.

Now for tuning which hopefully will be done this Saturday. Fingers crossed for 400+ rwhp! Will take and post better pictures once it is done.

Well, Dave wants to get everything finished so that he can dyno it and send it out the door, so they need to get the paint defect finished this week so that we can dyno tune it on Saturday. If that happens, I will be there and film it with my iPhone as I lost the cable to my camcorder during the my last move and if I record it correctly, I will not be able to upload it.

I'm very happy with the wheels and the color combo. The paint is not perfect, but then what is perfect and what will be perfect once it is driven on the track? The silver wheels were too washed out with the grey car (although they looked great when the car was black). The grey dash is also going in this week.

I'm ready to drive the damn car again and will keep you posted.

Sounds good. Can't wait to see pictures with all the BBS wheels on!

A perfect paint job cost too much lol.

I hear ya on wanting to drive your car again. Driving my car every other day for 4 1/2 years to it being down for almost 3 months has sucked haha.

Looking forward to more updates

Dave is great, but he is very slow. It can't be a good business model as he has dozens of cars INW but obviously won't get paid until he finishes them. Maybe he has a little ADD. I would think focusing on a car and getting it out the door quickly would be better for cash flow.

I don't know what I would start doing if I don't get it back soon. I already posted pictures of the BMW. I guess I would be posting pictures of the Mini Cooper S next. Besides, for lack of my RX-7, I have been putting Dinan parts in the BMW which is very expensive.

I need my car back!

Really like the color and the car is looking great. Wish I was near that done on mine. I do think I'm going to go a light color on mine. The darker colors always seems to hide the lines of the Mariah kit. But it could just be the photos. Dark cars are so hard to photograph well.

Great thread, nice car. I've always wanted the Mode 1 kit but the one thing I've noticed in everyone's pictures of this kit, is the big gap between the road and the space between the wheels. Is it not possible to lower the car with the Mode 1 kit? It just looks like it sits up really high. It's really noticeable on post 119 in the pictures of the race day when you are about to pass the corvette. The corvette is nice and low with a real mean stance and the 7 looks like it is ready to go off-roading.

Yup the rear fender was trimmed and peeled up. Inside the archway it was then fiberglassed to the fender and smoothed out. From that picture, it was not trimmed low enough and during an off-road excursion at the track (read: spinout) my brand new racing tire came in contact with it which left a deep gash. Those sharp edges have now been trimmed down.

I REALLY wanted the fuel door to sit flush, but we were unable to make that happen due to the fiberglass being too weak to support it. I haven't given up on it though and hope to still figure out how to do that.

I don't. It was done at KDR (where she still sits). I did not do it as I did not want to mess it up and I have a full-time job that requires 50% travel (I'm writing this from my hotel room in Seattle after spending last night in Denver and the night before that in Las Vegas).
