Question Information and pictures needed of ReSpeed and others Rack & Pinion

Does anyone have any pictures of the R&P upgrades from ReSpeed?

I am assuming crossmember/ the mounting locations, etc etc. Individual parts and the kit installed.

Also if there is anyone with an instruction manual or any links, that would be awesome!

Stu, you need to go see rwatsons car, he has the setup and he's in alabama so you can see it
live and measure it and so on. I assume you want use your fab skills to do something like it.

here's a pic from a thread where I sold a brand new setup. Worst decision I've made was to sell this.

Thanks Tim.

Yeah I would like to get measurements and everything since the car is mostly torn apart at the moment. I just remember the 6-7 inches of free play being annoying.

Plus getting my welding certs and working on a laser cutter might help making this

Maybe you just need to get all the maintenance done and it will be good enough. Check out
what one member went through when he finally did all the updates:

Thanks for mentioning my thread The steering is really quite nice once everything is replaced / fixed. I would imagine that with 6-7 inches of play the car would literally be undriveable. I have 1/2 inch of play in each direction, for 1 inch altogether. There's really nothing wrong with the stock steering, plenty of other vintage sports cars and "sporty" cars had steering box systems. The steering is smooth, direct and communicative.

Not meaning to hijack your thread, obviously rack and pinion would be better than the stock system, but I think it really depends on what you're looking for. You don't need rack and pinion if you just want to get rid of the excess play.
