How to spot the Mazda Factory Race parts
Ok, I thought it would be best to start alist, so to help people identify the factory race parts, mainly Rx7 ones from the 80's.
Oil Cooler # 1058 78 180
Larger than stock cooler and increases cooling by 50% over the standard type. The mountings are different, as your unable to mount directly under the radiator. This was the standard Competition Oil cooler for the Rx3 and Rx7
Standard type, 8 row.
MFR type, 11 row
Oil Cooler Lines #4352 14 720 & 4352 14 730
Rx7 Oil Sump # 4352 10 700
Twin Belly sump, as to increase capacity and maintain pressure under racing conditions, particularly while cornering. Holds an extra litre over a stand type.
Standard Rx7
MFR Rx7
Radiator # 1058 78 190
Aluminum construction, larger core and longer. This is to provide 60% cooling capacity over the stardard type. This was the standard Competition radiator for the Rx3 and Rx7.
Difference between a Rx3 12a Radiator and the MFR

Front Strut Assembly # 4352 34 910B (R) #4352 34 960B (L)
Damper characteristics of the shock have been selected for racing and are adjustable. Have less travel, than shock and the stub axle is stonger for inceased durability and safety. (same are the Rx5, I believe?) Plus it has the bolt holes for the brake duct and made by KYB. (Note: In the competition catalog the left struct number is incorrect 4352 34 920)
Front Springs # 4352 34 001
Lower length (252mm) to standard (338mm) and spring rating of 3.4kg/mm (standard 1.9kg/mm)
Note the progessive rate on the tag

The Front Hub has a larger bearing capacity and uses special bolts to attach disk.
Front Brake Duct # 4352 33 260 (L) & # 4352 33 270 (R)
Provides cooling to the front brakes and bolt directly on the front structs.
Rear Disk # 4352 26 251
Solid rotor disk 254mm (10") diameter and 10mm thick.
Brake Booster #4352 49 800
Increasing diaphragm size from the 6" of the standard series to 7.5".(aka series 2/3).

Front Tension Rod Bracket # 4352 34 850(R) 4352 34 860(L)
Front tension rod brackets have two holes for adjustment.
Tension Rods #4352 34 130
To eliminate longitudinal compliance of the lower control arm, the forward end of the rod are ball jointed.
Front X-member Part #4352 34 800
Same configuration as stock, but is stronger. Yes, not really, the opening for the control arms is wider 70mm, as to standard one of 60mm. This is to help out caster.
Side by side pic
Under veiw, note the metal covers more of under side, than standard.

Lower Control Arm # 4352 34 300(R)/350(L) with Knuckle Arms # 4352 32 301(R)/311(L)
The linkage utlilzes a rose join end, instead of the rubber bush. Plus the Knuckle arm is stonger and redesigned for clearance around the wheel and tyre.
Difference is the thickness at the stopping bolt

The clutch has a solid centre and the boss spline is chrome plated.
Clutch Pressure Plate #4352 16 410
To Eliminate slippage, this clutch has a boss-type drive instead of the straight-type drive. The working pressure is 630kg, compaired to the standard 380kg. Plus it has chrome plated release collar bearing.
Flywheel #4352 11 755
This flywheel is fabricated from steel and one peice with ring gear cut.
Note: this is a copy and is very close to orginal, but missing 6 locking dowels for the pressure plate.

These are 5 speed box with a thicker castiing case from 4.6mm to 6mm, No speedo gear and reverse light provisions and a needle bearing instead of the stock bush at the end of the extension housing. The input shaft has been chrome plated, for reduce wear. The syncho ring are also different for gears 1-4, the core diameter is 62mm, not 63mm. Syncho keys for gears 1-4, has a groove depth of 0.7mm instead of 1.5mm. All gears use needle bearing and shifting forks on gears 1-4 are stronger and heat treated with 5th/reverse heat treated only.
MFR V's Standard Ratio's
1st-2.350 (3.674)
2nd-1.608 (2.217)
3rd-1.240 (1.432)

5th-0.881 (0.825)
Option 0.839
Clutch Fork # 4352 16 520A
Look the same config as the early type ones, but the holding spring is different. More "meat" to push the bearing, compaired to the Rx7 type. Note the Rx7 type on the RHS.
This is an earlier type (rx4/Rx5) on the RHS.
Starter Motor Bracket # 4352 18 401
The starter stay reduces vibration and prevents possible breakage of the transmission case.

Rear Shocks # 4352 28 700 and Top Rubber Bush # 4352 28 775
Made by Tokico and has 5 adjustable setting by a dial on top of the shock. When speaking with Mick Webb, he indicated on how good they were.
Rear Springs # 4352 28 011
These are shorter and stiffer than stock. 278mm long, wire diameter is 11.2mm (middle) and 9mm (both Ends) and Rate of 3.2 Kg/mm. Stock/standard are 315 mm Long, wire diameter 10.2 and Spring rate of 2 Kg/mm.
Rear Diff Housing # 4352 26 020
The housing has been re worked for the new watts link set up and longer control arms, plus some adjustment points. Inside its baffled to retain oil around the gear and has 3 breather holes. A larger axle bearing too. Notice the oil plug hole on the back face is located higher then the standard housing aswell.
Rear Axle Bearing #4135 26 151 and Collar #8545 26 152
Larger that the standard Rx7 on the left.
