Help identifying my RX7

So while i’ve been working on my car i’ve made some huge discoveries. Turns out i have a very rare lip kit, it’s either the Kamei front air dam or Xenon air dam, not too sure though. As well as it wasn’t originally a red car, but infact a burgandyish brown color. It also seems to be some kind of special edition but i’m not too sure. I also think it might be a 1980 rather than a 1979 SA. The vin is SA22C581858 which leads me to believe that it’s actually a 1980 car. But overall i’m not 100% sure on any of this. I think it’s a special edition because it has beige and brown pin striping on the front bumper. If anyone can help me with identifying it that would be great!

according to the parts fish, 581858 would have been built September of 1979 (September was 578961 to 583526)
the 1980 model changeover was June 1978 at car 568501. so this one IS a 1980.

Color code would have been on a sticker on the underside of the hood, although it may be on the door jamb plate too (Mazda switches systems somewhere in here)

ah so i own a 1980 hm i thought i had a 79 😭. And the hood seems to not be the original hood and the cars been repainted twice so there isn’t anything on the door sills. is there any other way to check?

not the lip that’s currently on the car, it originally had a paint matched lip.

There's this. Maybe there are some other clues here.

nope, although the whole car was painted at the factory, so everything would have been body color at the time. behind the dash, under the carpets, etc etc

the good part is that you can paint it any color you like. mine says U2 blue on the tag under the hood, so its pretty hard to unsee
i like the yellow, that looks closer to the JDM Space yellow than the spark yellow we got here

Does the car have an 85 mph speedometer? That would be a ‘80 car. A ‘79 has a 130mph speedometer
