1st RX7 SA. Looking for some original engine information.
Hi
I've recently purchased my first Rx7. I've had a few rotarys in the past but I'm new to the 7 scene.
It's got a 12a turbo in it and I'm trying to figure out whether this was standard or its been changed out.
I know there are modifications done to the intake & turbo etc. But I'm trying to see if it was a production 12at.
Also I'd love some help with finding the colour codes for the 2 tone gold/brown that came out in around 84. That looked great imo.
Thanks
Mike

I think the 12At was only sold new in Japan. Here's a pic of that engine as it left the factory (note the distinctive red/orange intake and fan).
I don't think it had an intercooler. Yours looks like a nice aftermarket setup, like the Auzzie ones here....

It would appear that I have the same intake setup as those pac machines.
We got 12a turbos in New Zealand, as we import from Japan, I'm unsure about Aus where i am now though. I'm getting different info on the dates they were produced.
Is there any way to search the chassis number?
