So the first part of modding has been decided.

I'm most likely going with a FC Tii engine, I may run it n/a at first which should still be alittle more exciting then the 12a but hp isn't mygoal, turbo is.

I'll have a shop be doing the work for me though the choice of the 13b is due to me not knowing the shape of my engine since the OMP doesnt appear to be pumping at all and the engine loves to have premix in the tank... I'm sure it's going to throw the bearings eventually.

and with the 12a NLA the 13b will be a cheaper alternative

though I do love the 12a

do not have a shop do the work for you!! you'll learn SOO much when doing it and have a closer bond with the car..not to mention you'll save thousands of dollars! we're all here to help you through the swap!!

^I don't have any place to do it man, I have more then enough tools just no room

My friend owns a shop but hes not a rotary guy and hes a busy work man he'd love to throw a 350SBC in my rx7 lol but if anything happens because we made a mistake I cant work on cars at my house its against the rules of the park :/

I'm just going to have them do the stuff that i dont know how like getting the 13b in, running and tune it. I'll do other stuff that I can do without ripping out the engine :>

First change gone great

I found a fellow rotor head whom autocrosses and such with a 79SA, he had these enki rims in near perfect condition just very minor rash, can't really notice it n such.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....ictoRacer+V700

Those tires are amazing, the outer edges have slight grooves still left with like no pressure the tires held the car up fine and drove accross the street, after filling them to about 30psi each (Probably a tad too low but they havent been used im sure it'd help the rubber soften)

I went up to a twisty road, on hair pin U corners it was like a new car, only down hill did it leave my line but that was probably near 40.... empty twist roads are my fav, I still kept it safe cause the tires look like they should be warm before using them hard

I love the rims, totally changed the car, I could never get it to snap out and I tried to break the tires loose by doing a turn then wot, nope though pushing the clutch helped.

Ahhh I might get some 12a headers, not sure if I want to drop in the tii 13b yet

Chris if there aren't any serious problems with the 12A you might want to live with it for awhile, they have a way of growing on you. After all, you already own the 12A and it is installed, which has got to be worth a lot of $$$ you are otherwise going to have to come up with (easily enough to buy a full Racing Beat exhaust system, for example, and have an extra $1,000 to play with). 90,000 miles on a 12A is less than half the expected life time.

The 12A has a reputation for being very durable (bulletproof in my experience, I've never had one die) and properly carbed, with the RB exhaust, you should have plenty of kick to make you happy. Installing and maintaining a TII on the other hand could become a major preoccupation in itself - you'll have that extra boost, but at a cost. And you will downgrade that fantastic original stock condition your car now has.

I would focus on keeping the 12A and upgrading the exhaust system, when I put my RB system in I discovered that this really made the car a perfect balance of performance and efficiency.

Here's the system I put in my white 85 GSL last year, I absolutely love it, it makes the car:

Billy's ReSpeed heat shield, added later:

It's just I'm worried what damage was done while the OMP wasnt working, and one tank I couldn't afford premix on though I drove easier on her, it's probably very little oil makes it through the omp, it'll be rebuilt soon since I got the kit, I've been premixing religiously though.

I got a RB muffler, do they all come painted black? The muffler looks rusty but not rusty lol, anyways there is a high flow cat (Huge nice looking pipe going to the manifold) and I think the cat-back part is stock then the rb muffler not sure if thats restrictive but I'll see if I can score that rb header

running a tank without premix wont kill a motor assuming your not under boost (turbo/blower), don't overheat or rev much past 3-4k.

Just my few cents
