Michigan autocross- 2 day event!!! 8/8-9

Hey guys, anyone close to Michigan should check this one out. Great location to hang out for a weekend, and great people to play with. Already got a few RX7s registered.

The race is in Lansing, so it's pretty central to anyone in Michigan, and will run Saturday and Sunday. Run one day, or get a $5.00 discount for running both days. Cost is only $20.00, and we've got loaner helmets available.

Who wants to come out and play with us?

I am thinking about getting a room for Saturday night (maybe even Friday night too). If anyone is interested in sharing accommodations, PM me.

Always wanted to try autocross! I have to make a few "edits" on the car first. Still running original shocks!

I was going to go, but I am heading out of town this weekend to hang out with the family up by Petoskey. Once again, I miss an Auto-X

Petosky sucks. Blow the family off (they'll understand deep down inside where it really matters). Come and hang out with us and you'll have much more fun.

Don't wait until the car is perfect. Bring it out now, and start working on your driving skills and have a blast. Waiting is the worst thing you can do, because you'll always have something else to do on the car. Start now and you won't regret it, you'll still have a lot of fun.

That's right. There are people there running beat up $1500 cars on blown out shocks and sagging springs. It's really not about having the fastest car, it's about driving the **** out of the car you have and having fun doing it. Oh it's also about standing around in the sun all day, which is nice, if you like sunshine and warm weather.

I'm in. Thinking of coming in on Friday evening. If you still need someone to split a room I could use the reduced cost.

I'll check with the wife and maybe set us up with a room for Friday and Saturday nights. Splitting the cost should seal the deal with her.

I just received confirmation that we will once again be combining two lots for this event, which means we will have a very large course.

Rotaries ruled at this event. We had about 20% of the field on Saturday, and 15% on Sunday. That's a whole lot of apex seals, and not one of us had a single breakdown!!!

Pics are located here: http://furrin.org/Resources/PhotoGal...8/Default.aspx

I had a phenomenal last run on Sunday, beating cars I had no business playing with. lol. My car made me look like a God! I'll have some in car video later. I have come to realize that my car is basically waiting up for me to attain the skills to use it to its fullest potential. It was a very educational weekend. Not only did I not get beat by a Miata on Sunday, but I had a better time than a supercharged Miata on fat race rubber!!! It was driven by three people, and I got in ahead of all of them. The owner/driver was actually my instructer at a driving class I took last month and he said he was happy it was me that beat him. lol

But more than anything else, what I want to say is THANK YOU BILLY!!!! I asked for a car that could win, and still be driven to work every day, and you came through in spades.
