FTD Baby!!!
And wait until you guys see the Vette I had to beat in order to win it! This is my first ever FTD (fastest time of day, beat everyone in otherwords).
I'm just guessing, but I think the new tires are working for me.
Here is my winning run, which was also the last run of the day. Got a little excited once I saw the time come up on the timing board. lol I'll post vid of the vette and some others later. More racing today...

Good job!
The shifter carts or Per's B Mod Legrand always claim FTD down here. Then its the big boys in the built EVO/STI's with 315 Hoosiers A6 all around.
I am working on the Vette driveline in the GSL-SE right now. Maybe a showdown afterwards?

He's in CSP so he can't touch the ports. Some of the cars he was beating with the Sumitomo's were insane, now he's going to walk all over them. Good job bud.

Hankook Ventus Z214 in a soft compound. I'm very happy with them.
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....4C71&tab=Sizes There's a link so you can see what they look like, but I actually bought them from Discount Tire, who had a slightly better price and no shipping charges.
We've got a pretty good group of rotorheads in the area, and added a few more this year. Most of them are kids though, makes me feel old.
I was pleasantly surprised at how well the car itself took to the race tires. So perfectly balanced right from the start. I thought I might get more body roll with the added grip, but didn't really notice much difference (I really do love my swaybars). Mostly, it just seemed like everything happened a lot faster. And man, these tires! The transitions from grip to slip (on the couple of occassions that I actually pushed them that hard) was so smooth that you could almost miss it. No snap back to grip either, just nice and smooth. I can tell I'm going to have a lot of fun with these tires once I get to know them. I can't wait to try them out somewhere with some room, rather than such a cramped course (which I loved btw).
After six years of racing on the cheapest tires on earth, then going to these, I feel like someone shot me out of a cannon. lol.
We were having more races the following day, a morning session and an afternoon session. After the morning session the top dog from the school board (we were at a high school parking lot) came by and said that we had to stop. He said that he had thought we were going to be racing radio controlled cars, not real cars, and we had to pack up and beat it. lmao. Everyone thinks he knew damn well what we were doing, but someone put some pressure on him and he buckled and came up with the lamest excuse I've heard in a long time. So after the morning session, everything was suddenly over. I was only a few 10ths off that Vette too, and was looking forward to continuing the battle into the afternoon.
Anyway, sure beats a day at work.

I would believe that stepping up from the Sumitomos would be a huge difference. Even when I went from Azenis to NT01's the change was dramatic.
Now that your on race rubber people better watch out!

With good tires, you should have come down here to Scca Nationals and given the Miatas a scare. Maybe next year you can join us.
I went over to the dark side this year and am co-driving an ES Miata instead of my 7 since it is still underprepared.

A good run Mark. It pays to learn on the cheap and less affective equipment,
you learn how to squeeze the most from it. I have to say that you look smoother
in that run than any previous videos you've posted.
Was it the tires or the driver? I think it was both. You've improved to the point
that the extra grip was well used now. Congrats! Hope I see you at B3R.

Thanks man! I found them online for like 148 each, DT sold them to me for 140 each. Didn't have to pay for shipping either, so win.
I'll be playing with the Porsche club tomorrow, then off to Grattan Raceway for another autocross on Monday.
