Check out this cherry 1979 Rx7!

I almost decided to buy it but times are tough right now. Figured someone here must have seen it, given how mint it looks.

Definitely not mine, I had a 1985 once, it was not even close to this nice.

that really is a beautiful car!!! i like the solid black interior rather than the two tone that i see on so many 79's.

That is a prime example of a SA. Very freakin nice. Truly worth keeping all original.

As a fan of SAs, I think that one is worth the price. The only downside I could see is the modern stereo thats been installed with the wiring pouring out the passenger side of the console. The rest of it is priceless.

The engine bay wiring is not all original - - somebody's been hacking away in there. & what's with the tape on the shock tower, do you suppose?

Aftermarket speakers have been cut into the original door panels, too

Beautiful condition, no doubt... but not "all original."

The tach on an SA normally is a volt meter when the ignition switch is in the on (not start) position. His is showing its right at ~12 volts I think. Its not revving that high

i emailed yesterday and never heard back. i suppose i could call if really wanted to look at it. if its even still available. But i wasnt gonna offer 4800... i'd pay $4000 immediately for something like that, but more.. i'd have to think long and hard.

I am pretty sure that is the Factory "Premium" sound system in 79.
Not sure of the door speakers though.

[QUOTE=Directfreak;8821209]I am pretty sure that is the Factory "Premium" sound system in 79.
Not sure of the door speakers though.

I think the premium stereo in 79 was a Clarion analog tuner radio with a Clarion tape deck in the lower compartment.

Speakers were placed in the kick panels and rear, never the doors.

The stereo in this car has a digital display and I don't think that an equalizer was offered until much later ('84?)
