Belt configuration after air pump and TR delete on SA models

Hey everyone,

I know this has been talked about before but with the closing of pineapple racing, the yoohoo belt seems harder to come by and purchasing a belt from NAPA seems to be very tedious.

I’m wondering if just gutting the air pump and leaving the pulley in place is the most reliable way to go?

Curious what everyone thinks

I just use two belts and an dual belt alternator pulley. I used this pulley but my configuration may not be your configuration so please ensure you search and purchase the correct pulley. https://www.banzai-racing.com/store/...lley_belt.html

thanks for the reply, I’ve seen two “disadvantages” to the dual alt pulley, one being the tensioning of two belts on a the same pulley, and the contact area on the waterpump.

have you had issues with either of these?

Which is why they come with matched belts and you can also buy the tensioner bracket from the same page

I haven't really experienced that but it is possible. I'm not sure if I'm still on my original matched belts from Banzai or not. The car did have a "yoohoo" belt on it originally and both installing and removing it was such a pain that I ended up switching.
