Fellas-

I was playing around with the belts on my new-to-me '88 RX-7 GXL today. I loosened the air pump adjuster to take off the air pump belt. The belt would not come off, even with the adjustment mechanism at full throw. I ended up taking the pulley off to get the belt off. Is this normal, or did the previous owner have a incorrect belt on the air pump?

I had difficulty getting mine off too. 'Course, the bolt sheared right off, so now I'm screwed.
