Beautiful Yellow 79 sold on Ebay

looks completely restored and only 33k. Looks like it sold for $7900.

thats basically my dream SA, spark yellow GS, no sunroof.

that one has a couple odd details, steel spare but alloys? the transition between the yellow and the black on the rockers, makes me think repaint. EDIT, i see overspray on the door rubber, also they show the bottom of one door but not the other? interior looks nice, they missed a few spots cleaning it. i also wonder about the rubber plugs on the firewall, there should not be one by the VIN like that, odd

in the incompetent service department, the battery is wrong, the antenna is wrong, and the belts are ugly

Also, on a '79 shouldnt the window and windshield trim be grey metallic?

The car probablly came with steelies and the waffels are an ad-on. That would explain why there are no center caps on the wheels, plus the steel spare. Yes, the trim is too glossy black and I'd say its been repainter overall too. Not a bad thing unless you specificlly want original paint. For some reason, you don't see many spark cars with sunroofs. Most seem to not have that option. Same with the Keyholes. You normally find them on Spark cars but every single one. The plastic plugs are from the rustproofing that was common at the time.

I thought 79 had the dash with the speaker holes. Is that an 80 dash?

that car is SA22C-553839 and they switched from the grey trim to the black at SA22C-569399, so its been painted most likely

The speaker dash was one of those design changes they made in phases that first production year. Early cars had them, then they gradually went away. By January 79, the normal dash was being installed in cars comming down the line, so you'll find both dashes in 79s. The speaker dash is a easy way to identify a car built sometime in 78.

"Gorgeous Space Yellow Exterior" is a tacit admission that either the car has been repainted, or the seller knows next to nothing about RX-7's

Front right wheel center cap missing.

Nice engine bay, actually.

Front cowl misaligned @ right fender join; accident in it's past?

A 79 S with cruise control? Was that available, or is it an add-on?

Interior's in very nice shape.

A first-gen needs a rearview camera the way a fish needs an umbrella. Car has the best rearward viz of any car I've ever owned or driven, excepting a ragtop with the top down.

I'd say the price was pretty reasonable, considering shipping was included.

hmm you have a sharp eye, and based on that, i'm changing my answer. car looks to be original paint, EXCEPT right fender and door, you can actually spot it, because its too green. also notice the rocker/floors are painted black on the right but not the left?

cruise is an add on, which if i was the buyer would be removed ASAP!

i still want it though

**** it I'd still buy it, although I do have some sort of SA fetish lol. That colour only trumped by the green for me too. All of mine are 80's though so no tartan interiors for me.
