Am I imagining things?

Sat in a 1979 RX-7 today.. a base model and I had much more head room plus I sat a good 2 inches lower than in my 85 GSL-SE I really liked how I sat in that one.. didn't feel like Im sitting on the seat but rather IN the seat.. I would rather have an SA!!

You can't go wrong with an SA Peter, if you can find one in good shape. That's where it all started, after all.

Sounds like you bought that maroon SE, did you ever post up some pictures of it?

Hey Stu, I don't know if you've noticed, but you are more than a year overdue for your 10 Rotor.

I have an SA and have tried both seats. The SA seat does sit a good bit lower than the newer seat I installed. I liked the newer seat because it has adjustable lumbar support and a tilting base, but it does sit higher.

SAs Rule!

This is one of many reasons SAs are better than all other RX7s.

When I bought my rx7 I could have purchased a 1984 GSL-SE which had just been announce earlier that fall. No, I wanted the best I could get and I got a 3 year old 1980 SA. No regrets.

This is why I'm reworking a pair of salvaged SA seats to replace my nicely reupholstered FB seats... Loved those old SA seats, and have missed them!

DD - technically, certain 80 SAs were avail with those dee-lux seats you have, so your off the hook. FWIW.

Oh, I could claim correctness, sure - - but I always preferred the feel of the SA high backs.

I owe you an e-mail and some serious thank-yous since Xmas, Stu; sorry I haven't gotten around to it yet, though it has been much on my mind. I plead extreme workload and unavoidable lethargy.
